It’s nice ... now

It’s truly sad that Biloxi only cleans up the roadways, roadsides and bridges right before Crusin’ The Coast. The rest of the year, trash on and along the roads and bridges piles up. I imagine the casino’s tourists don’t care about the trash, as they are only here to hit the jackpot.

Shutdown

Lots of troops here on the Coast could miss a paycheck in 6 days. According to Sen. Check Schumer, “every day gets better for us” during the shutdown.

Autism

Seemingly everyone knows someone who has a kid with autism. Criticizing RFK Jr. for looking into the cause is ridiculous. Democrats attacking people who are trying to help is no help at all.

Money for nothing

Americans run the spectrum from liberal Democrat to Republican to MAGA, and there is a lot we don’t agree on. I hope that no matter your affiliation that you can at least agree that if you don’t do your job you shouldn’t get paid. How many of us were doing our jobs, but now cannot and are no longer being paid? Or worse yet, are being forced to do their jobs and are not being paid. Yet, a Congress that didn’t do its job of passing a budget is still being paid.

Navy address

Self-serving, autocratic, narcissistic, demagogic. These are all words that describe President Trump in his rambling speech recently at the world’s largest U.S. Navy Base. As usual, it was all about him. I’m glad my deceased father, a Navy veteran, was not around to hear this totally inappropriate address. Trump may be the Commander-in-Chief, but he needs to start acting like it. These active-duty military personnel swore an oath to defend the Constitution. They are not his private sailors and Marines to do with as he pleases. He’s got the “Trump National Guard” for that.

Anti-Trump

WLOX continues to be our local anti-Trump TV station and thus, irrelevant. The Trump administration brokered a possible peace deal in the Middle East, and there was no mention on WLOX news. Just the same old gibberish about the National Guard being deployed.

Knowledge

In recent times, I have, unfortunately, noted how the younger potential voters are so uninformed about not only our history but the present day issues. Between not having time to investigate the issues and complacency as to political issues, they just seem to live with opinions on social media. A lack of knowledge and a lack of interest with many uninformed voters may change the direction of this country towards failed socialism. I pray not.
