Biggest ever

Congratulations to Cruisin’ The Coast on setting a record for most registrations. I love spending the week driving the roads and seeing all the beautiful cars and trucks. What a pleasure it is.

Cruisin’ taking over

Cruisin’ The Coast has taken up the entire downtown of Gulfport and most of Highway 90 for a week. Tell me again why a few spring breakers here for one weekend is a problem?

So many events

I have tried to go to as many Cruisin’ events as I could, and I still missed out on so many cool things. Guess I’ll have to keep trying next year.

Great job, Biloxi

What a wonderful job everyone involved with the Biloxi Block Party did. Thanks and congratulations on another wonderful event.

Keeping it 100

“School Choice” writer has it 100 percent spot-on with this voucher push. It is segregation and it’s not just private schools with religious affiliations, it is the scores of “academies” that mysteriously appeared with the introduction of integration to the great state of Mississippi. Why not put all this energy into using voucher monies and any other collectible state funds to paying school teacher wages that attract and keep good and even excellent teachers?

There was a reason

If you are “old enough” to remember when they had police officers every 20 feet at Spring Break, you should be old enough to remember the reason for it. It was one word. Not racism. No, it was behavior.

Black and blue

If Moss Point police problems are solely economic, then get the governor and state officeholders to stop this foolish push for school vouchers, elimination of state income taxes, tax breaks for far too many unproven businesses, and send money like they did in Jackson.

Shutdown

I hope all furloughed federal employees and their families remember President Trump wanting to withhold their pay after the shutdown is over, when they vote in midterms and 2028.

Unequal treatment

In the ER at Memorial, you get a private room if you have good insurance coverage. I assume that the patients in the hallway do not.

Something missing

We spent the afternoon sitting on the side of the road waving at the beautiful cars. Many brought back memories of our times in the sun. Many waved back, honk at us and even got a semi air horn by doing the arm pump (haven’t done that since I was a kid). But there was one thing that was missing, and it took me a while to figure it out. We were seeing the 40s, 50s and 60s automobiles, but the scene wasn’t quite right. It was the seat belt law in the way. Just about all the cars had a male driver, and where was the girl? Sitting all the way over to the right side. Uh, uh, that gal was sitting right next to us in our era. So suspend the seat belt law during the Cruisin’ The Coast and really bring back the memories of courting by car.

Deal made

A peace plan is secured. A sad day for the Trump haters.

Peace plan

I’m looking forward to the many ways that Democrats attempt to shoot holes in President Trump’s peace plan.
