Planned anarchy

It has become evident to me that there has evolved a group of people who despise America and want to cultivate chaos and anarchy. I can’t imagine what government they feel would be better. I have to believe much of this is fomented by our foreign adversaries. This disturbing trend seems to be encouraged online, and to a degree it seems, even by some university professors. The recent political violence is a direct result. This vile political rhetoric against rivals and law enforcement has to stop, or it will just encourage more of the same, or worse.

Don’t forget

James Comey is only one of the cabal who tried to take President Trump out with the Russia lie. There’s many more to be prosecuted.

Political violence

According to the Cato Institute in an online article published Sept. 11, there have been 79 cases (including Charlie Kirk) of politically inspired terrorism (murder) since 2020. This accounts for 0.07 percent of all murders in the U.S. Breaking the terrorism numbers down into various ideologies, the big three are Islamism at 21%, left leaning 22% and right leaning at 54%. In my estimation, not too much should be made of the percentages because political terrorism is so rare. There are several other interesting facts in the article, which also makes its data available for download.

Lowering flags

Why would flags be flown at half-staff for Charlie Kirk? He did not deserve to be shot, but he was just an ordinary guy like the rest of us.

Climate change

Our president thinks that climate change is a scam and believes that we, and the world, should ignore all the science and actual evidence of it. Ronald Reagan faced a very similar situation regarding thinning of the ozone layer. Even though he did not believe the handful of scientists that had studied the issue, he made the bold and costly decision to address the perceived problem, saying that the risk to the world was too great if his beliefs were wrong. His decision was later found to be correct and saved the world from a huge catastrophe. Our president should consider the risk to the world if his gut feel decision of ignoring climate change is wrong. If he can’t do that, then our senators and representatives should step in.

Get them all

It’s about time that politicians pay for the lies they tell. James Comey will be just the first.

Hate speech

Hate speech is suddenly bad, but that rule is ignored by President Trump, and he keeps ugly words flowing from his mouth. Guess he didn’t have a good upbringing because he’s just a bad guy.
