Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.

Epstein files

Delusional Democrats seem to think there’s a ‘We got you’ in these Epstein files. If there was, the Biden administration would have exposed it already.

When is it a crime?

So I guess if the Long Beach girl had been catering to wealthy people and the president, she wouldn’t be a criminal? How are we blaming the victims?

No heart

As President Trump announced that our military had conducted a lethal anti-drug operation, killing 11 human beings, a woman in a red dress to his right grinned from ear to ear. No matter the crimes people commit, their deaths are never to be celebrated. Least of all people executed without the opportunity to meet their accusers.

Sorry

The liberal Democrat media told us President Trump was dead over Labor Day weekend. This, because he didn’t grace them with his presence for 2 days. President Biden wasn’t seen for months. Get a grip.

National Guard

On one hand, our president says the states should handle their own national catastrophes like Katrina, and on the other, he says the National Guard is needed to control crime in cities. States don’t have the financial or multi-state coordination to handle a Katrina, but do have the local knowledge to handle local crime. The National Guard standing around for photo ops is not a solution. This is contradictory, self-serving messaging about the state’s capabilities coming from the White House.

Stop it, already

Sitting in a doctor’s lobby, I experienced cell phone speaker use reach a new low. A child was indoctrinated into this practice as a father set up FaceTime for the little girl to talk to her mother, to the great annoyance of everyone waiting. The remote childcare could have been just as effective on a private call.

Make America Greater

Donald Trump is an old man with a dangerous case of historical ignorance and selective nostalgia. America has always been great in some ways and terrible in other ways. A better slogan than “Make America Great Again” would be “Make America Greater.”
