The storm surge from Hurricane Katrina came over the eave of the roof at the Apostolic Church of Our Lord Jesus at Avenue B and Kiln-Waveland Cutoff Road in Waveland. As the water receded, it revealed the cars that belonged to the 20 people who had sought refuge in the church.

Thanks

Thank you, WLOX, ABC News and Robin Roberts, for a heartfelt look back at Hurricane Katrina.

The ‘missing minute’

Oh, gosh, I’m just so surprised. It turns out everything that AG Pam Bondi said about there being a “missing minute” in the Epstein jail tape was a bunch of hooey. Who could have ever seen that coming?

Democratic cities

Trump supporters wonder why Democrats feel like they do about President Trump. Consider this: Trump’s anti-crime campaign using the National Guard is only directed at Democratic cities. For example, he is now targeting Chicago, where the major crime rate is down 30% from last year. How about targeting the nation's worst cities, like Jackson and New Orleans?

Didn’t vote for this

We all voted for immigration reform. Not one of us voted for a new police state, run by one guy intimidating, persecuting, abusing any brown person that can be grabbed, citizen or not.

Sorry, libs

You just spent an entire holiday weekend thinking the president was dead. Well, guess what? You’re wrong again. So you’ll get to enjoy that Trump Derangement Syndrome just a little bit longer.

Wind power

Our president’s personal grievance against climate change and wind power specifically is slowly destroying an entire industry and all the jobs that go with it. Deep-red Iowa generated 62% of its power from wind in 2022. Not one pro-business Republican in the entire country will dare to voice any opposition to this personal grievance of the wannabe dictator in charge.

Imitation

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then goodness the governor of California must really love President Trump.
