Who so scared?
I didn’t realize how many citizens are fearful of a U.S. military presence In their crime-ridden areas. The presence of these troops will deter criminals from attacking the innocent people and allow depleted local law resources to do their job of protecting and enforcing the laws. This is no governmental take over but a much-needed correction in the enforcement of our laws.
Duplication
I’m 74 years old, and I’ve never voted in an election in which I didn’t have to show identification that matches the information on voter rolls. It’s already the law, why do we need another law? We don’t. It reminds me of Republicans blaming Biden for “open borders,” and the need for a law to make it illegal to cross the US-Mexico border without permission when, in fact, we already had such a law. Our government has become an episode of Keystone Cops.
Not exactly a legend
Gloria Gaynor, a one-hit wonder, is being given a Medal of Honor. Slim pickings for true MAGA believers.
Good luck
Welcome to New York City, where the leading candidate for mayor is a person with basically no experience running anything, or really doing anything, who has made many statements that would have been disqualifying in a previous era, and has shady connections that also would have been disqualifying in a previous era.
Make it make sense
Could someone please explain to us unwashed masses how it is that Mississippi sent 200 of its finest National Guard soldiers to patrol the streets of Washington, D.C., when Jackson has a murder rate 3 times that of Washington? Why, if they were so badly needed to patrol streets, weren’t those streets in our state’s capital city and not that of the nation?
About color: Black and blue
Do not applaud President Trump for taking the initiative to stop crime in big cities. None of the cities that he has targeted are on the top ten crime-ridden U.S. cities list. The first five on this list are red southern cities. The cities picked for military invasion are all blue with black mayors.
Not qualified
First you have Robert F. Kennedy Jr., with zero experience or medical training appointed by Trump as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Now, in yet another disgraceful award of political favor, a non-medical, non-science-degreed person has been appointed as Director of the Center for Disease Control. Professional ignorance at these levels will result in unnecessary deaths and end of medical research.
Shame
Tulsi Gabbard should be ashamed. FEMA always works with states and listens to provide help they don’t have. Tell New Orleans the state knew best. These lying Republicans should be ashamed.
States do know best
As long as our state leaders receive the help they request, I see no problem with eliminating FEMA. Good job, Mr. President.
Keep fighting
I am in tears. It’s Friday. August 29. No, it’s not the memories of Hurricane Katrina that are making me cry, it’s Robin Roberts of ABC News, and CBS News perpetuating the story that Katrina hit New Orleans. We must continue to put out the truth.
What about us?
Seeing all the national coverage of Hurricane Katrina, you’d think our little slice of heaven escaped unharmed.
Isolation
Did a post really blast President Trump for not attending the summit in China? The writer cleverly did not list all the countries attending, by just saying “and other nations.” Trump would have never heard the end of it had he attended. No one from the EU was there, but Iran sure was.
