Wake up

Stop with all the profiles, classifications, excuses of any of these weekly/daily mass shooters. Reality is, it is the guns. When the GOP allowed the Assault Rifle ban Act of 1994 to expire and die in 2004, numbers of war-type automatic and assault record sales have soared. That, in spite of any denial, is the reason for these mass shootings. We’re not talking about your hunting weapons or pistols, we’re talking military grade to kill people not squirrels, deer or game animals. Spineless congressmen, legislators, courts and especially the GOP Supreme Court is complicit, and all this blood is on their hands. Get rid of automatic assault weapons.

How appropriate

A mass shooter just shot up a church during services, killing two children and injuring many. The shooter used guns bought legally. This weekend we are having no-tax shopping for guns. Wow.

Ban it all

And now, the predictable screams for the banning of guns. If we’re going to do that, how about taking a look at how many of these shooters have been trans? Maybe we should do something about that? Guessing the Democrats won’t be nearly as eager to address that issue.

This is ridiculous

Of the 50 members of Congress who are 75 years old and older, and up for reelection in 2026, nearly 70% say they plan to run again. And more than 70% of that group are Democrats.

Great work

In looking at the pictures from Washington D.C., I’m relieved to know that our National Guard troops are busy doing such important work as ... picking up litter.

About that Nobel

Russia just bombed Ukraine heavily. I guess the “summit” didn’t work!?

DOGE alert

I have seen reports that Alligator Alcatraz in Florida cost more than a quarter-billion dollars. I have also seen reports that it will be empty in days, on account of its creation being wildly illegal. How many public service workers will we need to fire to make up for this?

Go woke, go broke

Hopefully Cracker Barrel figured out soon enough that its customers aren’t looking for woke ideology. We’re just looking for some home cookin’.

We can’t hear you

Noticeably absent are any comments on President Trump and the Epstein files cover-up. There are numerous pictures of Trump with underage girls posing with Epstein. Are pedophiles OK now? Where are the Christians and moral majority people?

Ukraine

I am a Trump supporter, however the onslaught from Russia on Ukraine is not acceptable. The President needs to stop playing footsie with Vladimir Putin. Hit Russia with the maximum possible sanctions and stop being like Ole Joe. Let Ukraine unleash its long range capabilities. Let the chips fall where they may.

Katrina

Seeing all the coverage of the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina has made me appreciate all the more how far we’ve come since that terrible time.

Remembering

Thank you to all the media covering the anniversary of Katrina. It’s good to know our area hasn’t been forgotten.
