Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.

Freedom or exploitation

Singer Britney Spears is the latest example of an aging star regularly posting naked pics on social media to draw attention and remain relevant. She’s middle-aged now, with nearly grown children, yet she exposes herself as if she’s auditioning for an adult magazine or creating an Only Fans page. In a day and age where women have more rights and opportunities than history shows they ever had, it seems many stoop low and volunteer for exploitation that used to be involuntary and their only path to economic survival. It reeks of desperation to retain fifteen minutes of fame at the cost of dignity.

Faded striping

The striping at the extremely busy intersection of Cowan and Pass roads has faded badly and needs to be redone.

We’re good with socialism now?

They told me if I voted for Kamala Harris that we would have socialism, and they were right.

Support this?

As an independent, non-partisan voter, I agree that there are issues in our country that needed attention. Our “leader” has taken actions to address those issues but, in my opinion, his actions are outrageous and harmful to our country and people in our country.

Ukraine

The only way the war in Ukraine is going to end is if and when Vladimir Putin has had enough, for the time being. And that can only happen with significant U.S. support. That’s not likely when the president, so tough on landscapers and fruit-pickers, is afraid of offending his friend and idol and favorite brutal dictator and war criminal.

Not that easy

Maybe we should send some of the readers of the Sun Herald to Russia to confront Vladimir Putin and end this war. They are often very critical of President Trump and his plans, but don’t offer any real alternatives.

Who is negative?

I get a kick out of the Sound Offs from the righteous right constantly talking about how negative the liberal left is. Do they realize how negative they sound? Also, if people want unity so badly, quit with the name-calling and labeling.
