No democracy

A Sound Off writer says that Trump could cure cancer and the Democrats would still hate him. Does this writer not realize that we no longer have rule of law because Trump keeps breaking the law, and no one has the courage to stop him? Our democracy is now gone. We are ruled by Trump and corporations. When the Supreme Court refuses to stop Trump’s illegal activities, there is no democracy. I used to teach my students how well our system works because of checks and balances. They are gone. What would I teach my students today?

Fox News

The reality is that only one major news station continues to promote Trump distortions. And that’s Fox News, who paid $787 million for its election lies. Truth is, major affiliates and other media speak truths that MAGA worshippers can’t accept. If there is smoke pouring out of a building, the smell of smoke, people running from the building, response vehicles outside, and Trump says it just bigm beautiful fog, MAGA folks believe it.

Here’s more about the newspaper. Updated news is one thing, but trying to locate a Sunday print edition is like a scavenger hunt. And the price is crazy.

How we talk

Why do some people pepper their conversations with insertions of “right?” Presumably, if they are telling you something, They are the ones with knowledge, therefore, asking you if they are right is illogical.

Putin meeting

Now America is meeting Putin in America because Putin can’t travel anywhere else because he is wanted for war crimes. Surely no one believes Putin wants to end the war in Ukraine. If that were true he could simply pull his troops out and quit bombing. War over. Putin just wants to play Trump again on American soil.

Broadcast video

Network news often precedes a video report with the statement, “the images you’re about to see may be disturbing.” They should include, “But we’re going to show it to you, anyway.” Because they always do. “Disturbing“ is exactly the point.

The president

Seems that the far left Democrats can only bash President Trump for his decisions instead of offering solutions to our many issues such as immigration, the economy, crime and the national debt. They did nothing to resolve these issues for the past four years. Time to give someone else the opportunity. That is what we voted for. Closing the border and expediting deportation, reduced spending and cleaning up the streets of our nation’s Capitol is a good start.
