What we voted for

It is being reported, and not denied, that critical search and rescue teams for Texas were delayed three days because Secreteary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem needed to sign off on the decision for them to go.

Maybe now they’ll pay for it

The Houston Chronicle reported that Kerr County officials were denied in their request for warning sirens eight times by the state of Texas. Maybe a couple hundred dead bodies will get them moving.

Flood warning

It was reported soon after the flood in Texas that either the town of Kerrville or Kerr County had discussed a warning system and decided not to put one in place. The cost was considered prohibitive at the time.

Losers, huh?

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says asking “who is to blame” is “the word choice of losers.” I mean, personally, I’d like to know what went wrong and how to fix it. But maybe I’m just wired differently.

Bipartisan support

It was truly encouraging to see Congress come together in a bipartisan manner to support Ukraine during their time of need. This kind of cooperation is heartening and shows what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal. However, it does make me wonder why we can’t see the same level of bipartisan cooperation when it comes to addressing some of the pressing issues we face here at home in the U.S. We have numerous challenges that require urgent attention and collaborative efforts from both sides of the aisle. If we could channel the same spirit of unity and purpose that we see in our international support, we could make significant progress on many fronts. Let’s hope that the positive example set by our support for Ukraine can inspire similar efforts to address the problems we face here at home. By working together, we can achieve great things and create a brighter future for all.

Tough week

What a week for Team MAGA. President Taco is talking about amnesty for some illegal immigrants, we’re now resuming sending arms to Ukraine and there’s suddenly no Epstein list, despite it being on Pam Bondi’s desk just a bit ago. So much winning.

I don’t believe it

You mean to tell me that Pam Bondi, Kash Patel and Dan Bognino, who spent years screaming about the Epstein cover up, have decided there’s nothing to see here? What was that about draining the swamp?

No list

Guess Jeffrey Epstein killed himself for nothing, huh? I, for one, am totally stunned that an administration led by a guy who has been photographed over and over with Epstein would want to brush this under the rug.

Quit asking, already

President Trump, when asked about the Epstein list, got Big Mad and chided the reporter asking the question. Guess that’s your answer, MAGA.

Russia hoax

It was there all along and now laid bare for the world to see; the conspiracy led by John Brennan, James Clapper, Barack Obama, James Comey and Hillary Clinton to falsely discredit Trump using the infamous and totally bogus “Steele Dossier”. The singular purpose, driven by Trump hatred, was to steal the election. This is way worse than Watergate or any fictitious Hollywood movie because it’s rotten, real and struck at the heart of our democracy. There must be a reckoning and their enthusiastic media helpers that fanned the flames must be included.

Simply ugly

Through the years, I have often read Sound Offs with which I disagree. Until the July 8 edition, I do not believe I’ve ever read one so cruel as the one titled “Get to Work.” Doubtless the author of same was not raised in a Christian home, such as the one in which I was raised. A country which cares not for its sick and needy should be ashamed. What will you say to the crippled child whose family loses its Medicaid and, as a result, the child loses his wheelchair? What the Republican party has done is not merely cruel and evil, it is stupid since it rewards the rich for being nothing but rich and punishes the sick for nothing but being sick. What would Jesus say? At long last, have you no shame and decency?

Freeloaders

There are many freeloaders taking advantage of Medicare and Medicaid. I see it every day around me. When you see able-bodied persons collecting these benefits, it makes me sick. Get off your behind and go to work.

Immigration

I remember when the Deporter In Chief (President Obama) executed one of the largest deportation operations in America. He also began E-Verify. Where were all the protesters and haters then?
