I-10 widening
About 3 weeks ago this paper printed an article about the I-10 widening from County Farm Road to Diamondhead. It pointed out that even though the outer lanes have been repaired for the use of trucks, the signs remain instructing trucks to use the left hand lanes. Not only have the signs still not been removed, but they still have the lighted signs instructing the same thing. Why? Don’t tell me it is because of “safety.” I also chuckle at the signs stating, “speeding fines are double when workers are present”, since there is usually no one working!
Proof
Highway 90 flooded and there are flash flood warnings across the Coast. What would it take to convince you that climate change is a real concern?
Climate change
Do I think climate change is real? Yes. Do I think it is part of a cycle that has continued throughout history? Also yes.
Immigration
It’s become apparent that Democrats are defending illegal immigrants because it’s costing them their servants. From lawn to laundry, maids and cleaning.
Independence Day
Many, many years ago someone wrote in Sound Off that we should refer to the first holiday in July as “Independence Day,” not just “Fourth of July,” because the former term reminds us that the Continental Congress published the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Subsequently, many Americans died to make independence from England a reality. Many Americans since have died to maintain our freedom. Join me in celebrating Independence Day, 2025, and every year.
Income tax
It seems to me that requiring a little more income tax from the super wealthy would help cut the deficit and would not affect the multi-billionaires at all Reducing the tax burden on the middle class would stimulate the economy. Why should the lowest income tax payers have to support the government’s generosity and waste?
Fraud
Why is it that progressives try to block attempts to eliminate fraud, waste and abuse in the Medicaid program? If some lose their benefits by eliminating fraud, waste and abuse then it seems to me they should not have had the benefit in the first place.
