Sun Herald readers weigh in on local and national topics.
Immigration
It is nothing short of treason that so many of our politicians are aiding and abetting the flood of illegal aliens invading our country. These lawbreakers are not citizens and have no right to the benefits, protections, or concessions of this nation — yet corrupt officials continue to sell out the very people they swore to defend. Every action that shields or supports these invaders is a betrayal of the Constitution and a direct assault on the sovereignty of the United States. The American people must demand an end to this disgrace, and those responsible must be held fully accountable for their treachery.
Arrest them all
Not only should illegal immigrants be removed from the country, but the business owners employing them should be punished, as well. It’s their greed that is fueling this problem.
Upon further review
An awful lot of things that “never would have happened if I was president” have happened since the inauguration of Donald John Trump.
C’mon, Walz
Failed vice presidential candidate Tim Walz disavows America’s special place in global politics by suggesting China alone has the moral record to potentially be the arbiter of peace in the Middle East. Walz has been to China several times and must be blindly enamored. He ignores how the Uyghurs have been treated there because of their push for independence and Mao-Zedong’s multiple political and cultural purges that killed millions. He’s forgotten Stalin’s Great Purge or the Great Terror that killed 1.2 million. How about Cambodia’s killing fields where 1.7 million were killed or the iron fist of the North Korean communist Kim family dictator control where an estimated 1.6 million people have been murdered? In stark contrast, America stands for individual liberty and citizens over government.
Angry with Ezell
I voted for Mike Ezell. Figured a Sheriff who had at the start of his career worked at Youth Court would understand the importance of early childhood education. But no. Not Mike Ezell. You see, he voted to claw back funding for PBS. My grandchildren watch PBS. They tell me things they’ve learned by watching. There’s a whole lot of folks out here who are mad at you, Mike, for this so it’s a good thing you lack the guts to have a Town Hall. You’d be booed off the stage. You have taught me one thing. Never, ever vote for a Republican. They vote as only a sycophant would.
Attack on Iran
Israel lit up Tehran and it was well deserved, the Death-to-America Iranians started this on Oct. 7. How can Democrats support and defend Iran? They were warned and given time to negotiate.
Iran
Seems like the Iranians finally got what they’ve been asking for. Kudos to our president and the Israelis for making it happen.
Sen. Padilla
Sen. Padilla tried his best to stage himself as righteous, and made a fool of the Democratic party. Storming a DHS press conference when all he had to do was call.
Blame the right people
When gas prices go up, blame the right people, our officials in Jackson. It’s sad that wealthy people, in an attempt to avoid taxes, will create a larger burden for poor people thinking they don’t pay enough because their income is low.
Disgraceful
It is an abomination and exercise in bullying and political gaslighting as President Trump, for the first time in 60 years, flippantly calls upon the active military to intervene in the California governor’s business. The governor did not request assistance.
What’s next?
What will President TACO change his mind on next? Tariffs? Iran? Ukraine?
Says it all
President Trump did not call up the National Guard as his insurrectionists attacked the Capitol and physically threatened Vice President Pence and Congress and democracy. Yet the king of hypocrisy has no conscience or issue in sending active duty Marine warfighters to Los Angeles as a gaslightly personal promotion show.
Distraction
The GOP is trying to distract from President Trump’s disastrous policies by harping on Joe Biden’s alleged infirmities while he was in office. Don’t fall for it. Keep focused on resistance to Trump’s disastrous policies which are going to leave our country weaker, but the rich will keep getting richer and the poorer more so. Our health will also decline as a result of the kook Kennedy he appointed.
