I’m old enough to remember when the folks that were nominated to be Surgeon General needed to have an active medical license. And completed a medical residency.

Great choice

President Trump’s pick to be the nation’s top doctor, Dr. Casey Means, never finished her surgical residency, doesn’t hold an active medical license, promotes supplements and pseudoscience on Instagram, and has long been a big supporter of RFK Jr.

At war for decades

Pakistan and India have been at war on and off for decades. Perhaps “No Wars” might do a wee bit of research next time before sounding off.

It’s getting quite old and stale to see President Trump blamed for anything bad that happens in the world. India bombs Pakistan and Trump gets dinged it. He lives comfortably in the minds of many.

You’re fired

Apparently there is no room for integrity or morals in the Trump administration. The head of the Federal Emergency Management Administration testified to Congress that he opposes Trump’s desire to eliminate FEMA. The reason he gave to not eliminate FEMA was because “it’s not in the best interest of the American people.” One day later he is fired and replaced with a Trump loyalist with zero emergency management experience. It’s a poor state of democracy when you can’t speak the truth without threat of losing your livelihood.

FEMA

I don’t see how anyone can have any confidence or security as we head into hurricane season. Deep-red Arkansas had its emergency request denied by the Trump administration. Mississippi’s request hasn’t been acted on yet and President Trump just fired FEMA’s leader and has designs on eliminating the agency. Looks like we’re going to need those thoughts and prayers in advance.

The new pope

The new Pope is Creole with ties to Louisiana, and was born in Chicago. And he is progressive on social issues. Don’t worry he’s a Christian, like he follows the teachings of Jesus.
