Judicial overreach
President Trump and his team rightly challenged judicial overreach in the fight to secure our borders. Immigration policy belongs to the legislative and executive branches—not unelected judges. By standing firm, they defended American sovereignty and made clear that illegal entry into our country does not grant constitutional protections. This was a necessary stand for the rule of law and the safety of our nation. It’s time for Congress to back strong border enforcement and restore balance between the branches—our national security depends on it.
If it’s good for the goose ...
President Trump is attacking Harvard University’s tax exempt status, and he just said explicitly and emphatically, “Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the public interest.” I like that because I think some religious institutions are not acting in the public interest; they are acting in the interest of one political party or candidate or issue, so, as with Harvard, their tax exempt status should be investigated and perhaps withdrawn. That would make our political system more transparent and honest and raise taxes with which to reduce our national debt. Let’s get on with it.
Consider the source
State Sen. Joel Carter wants to dip in Gulfport’s mayoral tilt with poisonous remarks about his godfather’s opponent, rather than brandish all the good things his godpop has done and intends to do for the city. Akin to his racist remarks a year or so ago in both the balloon statements and wading into Jackson’s heated water problems. Take a look at his Legislative bills, and it’s a short list since 2018, he’s tried to declare natural gas as clean and restrict the state’s electric transmission, a notion previously struck down by Texas courts. Every other sponsored bill is to eulogize someone. Gulfport does not need a daddy’s little boy telling the voters what they can see for themselves.
Wine sales
Grocery stores do sell certain types of wines, if it’s 6% alcohol and under. Anything over 6% is sold in a liquor store in Mississippi.
Not the same
President Biden wanted relief for student debt. President Trump wants to foreclose and garnish wages. Maybe young people will pay better attention now to what’s happening.
Stay gone
I do not miss Kamala and her cackle.
Tick tock
So, to be clear, the president who ripped Joe Biden for not doing enough for North Carolina is still sitting on Mississippi’s disaster request?
