Tariffs
I’m love to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt on these tariffs, but boy would it be easier if he hadn’t declared bankruptcy six times. Can’t wait to see what Mr. Art of the Deal does to our economy.
He did that
There were so many Sound Offs attacking President Biden for the state of readers’ 401(k)s. Well, kids, let’s hear it. How’s it going under President Trump?
Patience
Patience. Patience. Give President Trump a chance to correct the uneven trade imbalance. Our country has been taken advantage for way too long. Yes, my retirement mutual fund is hurting this morning, but I trust that things will get better for all of us. Do not believe the biased, Trump-hating media, as they continue to unfairly bash him and his policies. They want him to fail, as do many misguided Americans. Patience.
Big wins
I mean, I’m not going to be able to afford groceries or retire at this rate, but at least we’ve got the Gulf of America. And now all five or six transgender athletes won’t be able to participate in women’s sports. And we’ve gotten rid of all those pesky government workers in charge of keeping us safe and healthy. If this is Making America Great Again, I wouldn’t mind going back to when America was just good.
Women’s sports
Who, with a straight face, can look you in the eye and tell you it’s OK for men to compete in women’s sports? I want hear the reasoning.
Good grief
In Gulfport, Ella Holmes-Hines was reelected to her Ward 3 post. She had refused to repay the funds that she was paid in error. In response, she has file a discrimination lawsuit. All this because the city government had the audacity to demand repayment. God bless the electorate. What a country.
Turncoats
Republicans can always count on Sens. McConnell, Murkowski and Collins to slow role or oppose anything from President Trump. They are ineffective against harmful Democrat policies when in the minority party, but never fail to turn traitorous when in the majority. Without their help, and in spite of their RINO spines, Trump has given them the White House twice, and all three branches this year, yet they oppose him. Sen. Schumer certainly loves them, but Republicans know they are turncoats to GOP values, policies, and planks of the party’s raison d’etre. It’s way past time to put them in a rowboat with no oars and a leak.
Avian flu response
I am a veterinarian and I’m quoting from one of our professional publications: 140 FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine leaders and administrative staff are among the HHS employees fired in the latest round of cuts. Two senior veterinarians who were fired had been leading the CVM’s avian influenza response, while others were working on antimicrobial resistance and animal feed safety. “The work done by our veterinarian colleagues in these offices is critical to the safe and effective practice of veterinary medicine, and — ultimately — the protection of animal and public health,” said AVMA President Sandra Faeh.
Flip-flopping
What happened to the campaign rhetoric of job creating? That’s all Republicans use to talk about, mainly to justify tax cuts for the rich. Remember trickle down? Now jobs are being eliminated every day. Is it that easy to be manipulated?
What I know
I’m not a stable genius, just stable. However, I know from experience that tariffs are counterproductive, trickle-down economics is a myth, and Kid Rock makes a better court jester than that rocket scientist.
It’s about time
I, for one, am sick and tired of America being taken advantage of by Heard Island and the McDonald Islands. These penguin-infested lands have never once sent, or received, anything from America. Perhaps these tariffs will get these birds off their behinds to help Make America Great Again.
Similarities
Kanye West and President Trump have similar tactics for keeping the attention on them. Both say and do extreme and controversial stunts to attract attention. Kanye, I can ignore because he is harmless. But Trump is the president of the United States.
