Disappointed
I have supported the Democratic Party in the past and will still support some Democratic candidates, but I am not supporting the party. I am profoundly disappointed at how badly they failed us at our southern border.
Ocean Springs election
If the citizens of Ocean Springs are successful in voting Kenny Holloway out of the Mayor’s seat, what are the chances we can also deport him back to Biloxi?
Tariffs
Canadian government-subsidized lumber has flooded our markets. As a tree farmer, I believe that President Trump’s tariff on lumber will create a fairer market, helping small people like me.
Statesman vs. bully
The public display of bullying from President Trump and Vice President Vance toward President Zelenskyy was embarrassing for the U.S. The dichotomy between two heads of state was palpable. Zelenskyy is a comedian who become president, while Trump is a reality show bully who has remained a reality show bully. Trump and Vance’s behavior is unacceptable. The U.S. was once the most revered peace-loving country because of its people and its resolve to do good. Now we are just the bullies in the sandbox, along with Trump’s other bullies, Russia and North Korea.
Political parties
The Republican party no longer exists, but is now the Trump party and is under his direct control. I don’t know what happened to the Democratic party. It has disappeared from the scene, if it still exists.
Kudos
The front page photos of the Ocean Springs/Elks club day parade, in the Feb. 19 issue of the Sun Herald were really nice. Hannah Ruhoff has a lot of talent.
Shame
I cringed hard while watching President Trump and Vice President Vance gaslight President Zelenskyy about who started the war in Ukraine, and that he hasn’t thanked the U.S. enough for supporting our ally. Yikes. These men attempted extortion with the mineral deal in exchange for (not guaranteed) U.S. support against Russia. This is no way to treat our allies. They keep it up, and we won’t have any when Putin decides he wants Alaska.
