On ‘Fairness’

In “Fairness,” the Sound Off writer raised questions about why neither Democrats nor Republicans seem to want to address the central issues of illegal immigration. There was an interesting interview on MPB some time back with an author who had the answer: “Because it works the way it is.” President Trump is going to discover this with his proposed mass deportation plans just as Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith did when federal agents raided Mississippi’s chicken processing plants a few years back. She was initially applauded the effort, and then the chicken processors jumped all over her when they had to nearly shut down because they had no labor.

Tariffs

During President Trump’s first term I was in the process of adding on an addition to my house. Because of his tariffs, the building cost of lumber, drywall, and other raw materials doubled. I ended up being $30,000 over budget.

There is a way

President Biden’s former economic advisor Jared Bernstein “warned” that deporting illegal aliens will raise wages for American workers in the construction, retail and restaurant sectors. Oops, he said the quiet part out loud and he left out hospitality and agriculture sectors. The horror. We can’t stop disenfranchising American citizens and exploiting illegal workers. That was the Biden way. President Trump is turning off the spigot. American jobs for American citizens. Come to this country legally and become a naturalized citizen.

Rulings

Why does President Trump have to abide by lower court rulings when President Biden completely ignored the Supreme Court’s rulings?

A new day

In their 1980 debate prior to the Republican convention, both Ronald Reagan and Geoge H. W. Bush favored open borders between Mexico and the United States. My, how times have changed. I guess both those Republican presidents would now be considered RINOS, Democrats, Socialists and, worst of all, woke.

Sad

30,000 Coast residents voted for a king cake, but fewer than 60% of Mississippians voted in the presidential election.

The weather

The cold winters and the hot summers have been thrust on Mississippi by Canada and Mexico — with Chinese participation no doubt to burden our AC bills. There’s no proof required. It’s just common sense. It’s cold in Canada and it’s hot in Mexico. Obviously these so-called allies manipulate the winds to come here.
