Why does the Jackson County School District always wait to the last minute to cancel school when weather conditions are dangerous?

Flag modification

We should change the motto in the ring around the Magnolia on the Mississippi flag. It should read “In God We Trust. In the Legislature, we do not.” The tax modification proposal is ridiculous. As a retiree, I’m particularly incensed. Retirement income is not currently subject to income tax. The new scheme basically raises my taxes by a lot. Retirees, arise.

Women in combat

Women in combat? You don’t like Pete Hegseth, and that’s fine. Did you know there are 2 different sets of phyical standards in the military? Women are required to do about half of what men do.

Mississippi taxes

Mississippians, do not be fooled by our legislature passing a law to eliminate income taxes. This law gives most of us a small tax break because we do not make a lot of money, but gives high income earners a huge tax break because they make a lot of money. It is another tax law aimed to help the rich. Grocery taxes and gas taxes should have been eliminated; not income taxes.

We goofed?

We should have voted for Brandon Presley instead of Tate Reeves, who continues to do nothing for us. He is big business all the way. Meanwhile, we poor folks are left with low wages, high gas and food prices and an outdated infrastructure.

Bumper sticker

I would appreciate someone making a bumper sticker that said, “This is an intelligence test. If you’re reading this, you’re brilliant, as you’re not looking at your phone”.

Immigration

According to the Bible, Matthew 2:1-19, Jesus was born a migrant in Egypt. Mary, fleeing King Herrod’s threats, left Judea and gave birth to Jesus in this foreign land. When King Herrod died, the Holy Family moved back to Judea, to a town known as Nazareth. Do people who take their faith seriously, see the parallel with today’s mass deportation of immigrants?
