Supporting Hegseth
I understand that many look for reasons to not support some of President-elect Trump’s nominations for his Cabinet. As for Pete Hegseth, I was happy to see Sen. Wicker support that nomination. Yes, Hegseth may have had some personal issues. But those come to us from “anonymous sources.” I support his desire to put our armed forces back on track to do what they are meant to do; protect our country if needed by destroying those who would do us harm.
Outrageous opinions
Every time I pick up the Sun Herald and flip to the Sound Off column, I’m astounded by the sheer level of absurdity on display. It’s like a magnet for outlandish, fact-free rants from the far-left crowd. These “takes” range from calling common-sense laws oppressive to outright denying basic truths that anyone with a shred of logic would understand. What’s even wilder is how the far-left frame these wild opinions as if they’re gospel truth. It’s not about discussion or debate anymore—it’s about who can shout the loudest and twist the facts the furthest. The Sound Off used to be a place for real conversation. Now? It feels like a distorted echo chamber for the most extreme narratives.
Controlled burning
I would think the major reason for not doing controlled burning in Pacific Palisades and the other cities is because they are cities and residential neighborhoods. I sure hope no one comes to burn my house down in a controlled burning.
That’ll help
Now that the House passed a bill banning transgender people from sports, I expect our grocery and gas bills will be going down.
Flags
President Carter was an amazing man. His whole life was dedicated to helping others. Now, flying our flags at half-staff for him for thirty days will cease on Jan. 20 because the most selfish and self-serving man in history feels insecure. What have we wrought?
Morals
Can you leftists stop the moral character bit when it comes to choosing people for the Cabinet or anything else? You gave that away years ago by supporting President Clinton.
Vaccines
Most pet owners are in favor of their pets’ getting vaccines and they want their neighbors to do the same. Supports my theory that people love animals more than people.
