Burn bans
California has just imposed a ban on agricultural burning in certain areas. It is beyond time that the entire state of Mississippi did the same. There is no reason our healthy, clean air should be polluted. Options include chipping, shredding, mulching and just plain old “push it up in a pile and let it rot.“ The latter uses no energy, including no fossil fuels.
Stronger laws
The poster who wants the convicted criminal Donald Trump to put some teeth into our laws has a good point, especially about the mob shoplifting phenomenon. We also need some tightening up of laws that allow a felon to be elected to the highest office and the Supreme Court to police itself and be accountable to no one while not disclosing extravagant gifts and showing absolute bias towards one political party.
Heard it all
Watching the new world of fake news and political commentary has reached another height of ignorance. A new Republican senator just stated Pete Hegseth, a National Guard Major and Fox TV personality is more qualified for Secretary of Defense than Lloyd Austin, a 4-Star Active Duty General who served as Army Vice Chief of Staff, Commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, Director of the Joint Staff, and is a Silver Star recipient. Apparently the Senator thinks the public is stupid or super naive.
Not funny
I like a funny Sound Off as much as the next guy, but, Sunday morning’s “Common sense“ was not funny, trying to make a joke out of comparing weapons bans to reckless driving. What happened on Bourbon Street was clearly terrorism. It will never be funny.
Still Biden
I really hate to disappoint the left, but you’re printing stuff that sounds as if Donald Trump is in office already. Nope, Biden is still your president, if one could call it such.
Mass murder
Why it that after a mass killing law enforcement and public officials response is “We are working hard to make sure it will never happen again.” Of course it does happen again and elicits the same remark. Why don’t they just put in place all known prevention measures to keep it from happening in the first place. There is little satisfaction closing the barn door after the animals have have escaped.
Common sense, huh?
The sarcastic and snarky “Common sense” writer left out a couple of pertinent facts. Transportation is a necessity in any developed country for it to function, but guns are not, except for our military and law enforcement.
