Common sense

Here we go again. Another senseless mass murder. Fifteen people lost their lives because of reckless use of an automobile. Every single day, people die because of these dangerous things. Hopes and prayers will not stop the killing. We need to ban automobiles now. How many more people must die before we enact common sense laws and get these dangerous autos off the streets? If we could just save one more life, wouldn’t it be worth it? Help save our children.

FOX News

I’d like to congratulate FOX News for being the first (and only?) organization to report that the Bourbon Street attacker crossed the border from Mexico just days before his assault on New Orleans. I mean, sure, it was made up. Big it got a lot of old folks Big Mad, I’m sure. So I suppose it worked.

Out of touch

The writer who thinks Elon Musk, the “billionaire genius,” is a great advisor to Donald Trump should tell us why that is. He certainly isn’t in tune with any ordinary Americans who sit at the kitchen table and figure out how to feed their kids and pay the electric bill at the same time. Look up how much in tax breaks and subsidies he has gotten over the years and be sure to be seated when you do. We in Mississippi can’t even get our grocery tax eliminated or reduced. Musk is completely out of touch with working Americans and there is a tremendous conflict of interest here.

Drug of choice

Untold numbers of people rejected the COVID vaccine, refusing to have “untested poisons” or, worse, “corporate conspiracies” injected into their bodies. Today, people — any of the same ones? — are scrambling over each other to inject themselves with Big Pharma’s latest weight-loss venom. It’s astonishing ... and terrifying. Be careful, people.

Which is it?

Donald Trump is backing Elon Musk’s push to bring in trained immigrants because many Americans are not qualified. Trump also said he has them working at Mar-a-Lago. Is Musk right or is it that foreign professionals are cheaper?

Just take it

Donald Trump seems to be emulating his buddy Putin’s propensity for acquiring sovereign lands that don’t wish to be taken over. Seriously, we will make Greenland part of Alaska? He thinks Panama charges too much to use the canal so we’ll just seize it?

Who’s in charge?

Every time President Biden speaks to the nation, I find myself more and more bewildered how anyone could have ever possibly thought having him in charge for another four years would be a good idea. I can only imagine how bad he looks and sounds when he’s not prepped for presentation.

Debit Don

Those who are upset with President Biden’s latest expenditures should acknowledge and be concerned that in his last term in office President Trump increased our national debt by $7.8 trillion. Yes, “trillion.” When the president and Congress borrow money, they aren’t on the line to pay it back. It is we taxpayers who have to pay it back.

A pain

I’m annoyed by someone in Sound Off telling someone what they should and shouldn’t be annoyed by. Panhandlers are a pain. Park at any Walmart or gas station and try not to be bothered by two or three beggars and their sob stories, some real and some not.

Musk’s ideas

Elon Musk has benefited from billions of dollars in tax breaks and subsidies and government contracts. Funny though, he wants to slash “giveaways” for the common man, as long as it’s not affecting him and his fat wallet. No wonder Donald Trump loves him, they think just alike.

One concern

When a Tesla blew up in front of a Trump hotel in Las Vegas, Elon Musk’s only concern was his bottom line, making sure everybody knew it was not a fault with the vehicle. This tells you what he is all about.

Fix the border

Republicans have been screaming for four years about the border. And I don’t disagree. The GOP now controls the House, the Senate and the White House. And we’ve given Donald Trump a second chance to fix it. I sure hope we’re not all sitting here four years from now blaming Democrats. Again.
