Season’s Greetings

My very conservative family has always used “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Holidays” for greetings and departures, because it’s the holiday season. We say “Happy Holidays” to people we may not see on all the season’s holidays and reserve “Merry Christmas” to commemorate Jesus’ birthday. I won’t be seeing most of you at all, so I wish for you to have the most wondrously happy holiday season.

No greater threat?

“There has never been a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump.” Well, it seems strange to me that after four years as our 45th president, the Republic was still intact, and then we suffered four years of super liberal politics and the Republic is still here. But the most important thing is 85% of all the counties in the country voted to get President Trump back and they don’t seem worried about losing our Republic.

Unbelievable

If you had any question on where we are headed, consider this: Donald Trump’s first choice for Attorney General of the United States, Matt Gaetz, who has been under investigation for years, apparently used cocaine numerous times while in his Congressional Office, solicited and payed numerous prostitutes, and broke state laws having sex with 17 year old. No charges were brought. Trump chose him so he can control the Department of Justice and FBI and take action against his political opponents. Sounds like a dictator.

Rules of the road

When entering the interstate to an on ramp, accelerate. Don’t hit the brake or slow down. You have at least quarter mile to merge into traffic.

Inflation

Some analysts are right: Inflation is not a big problem. The big problem is that people’s incomes are not keeping up with inflation.

U.S. expansion

According to President-elect Trump, this country isn’t big enough. So he says he’s going to annex Canada, Greenland, maybe Mexico, and take back the Panama Canal. Ambitious isn’t he?

Sanity

Congress sets the budget. Donald Trump wanted the government to shut down over the budget and demanded all Republican representatives support him or he would ensure their failure in two years. The people elect their representatives, not the president. His demands makes him look much like an oligarch/dictator. Congrats to the dozens of Republican politicians (none from Mississippi) who denied Trump’s demand. America is already 36 trillion dollars in debt.
