Preventing violence
Officers work overtime to figure out why the 15-year-old girl from a Christian private school committed the mass shootings. Why not focus on prevention? Urban schools that have metal detectors are safer. Gun laws are enforced. Denial of a problem will not make it go away. Neither will prayer.
Thoughts and prayers
Oh, look, another school shooting. Another great chance for everyone to get together and ... do nothing aside from offering thoughts and prayers. In other words, do nothing.
What we’ve learned
I think it’s pretty clear by now that killing children isn’t going to be the thing that moves the ball forward on gun control.
Who voted for him?
So who elected Elon Musk to run the government? Our democracy long ago devolved into an oligarchy. We just didn’t all realize it.

Obama’s plan
The Sun Herald failed to print that Barack Obama was one of the authors of the Paris Climate Accord which was a globalization plan resulting in Mohammed being the most popular name in England.
Birthright citizenship
I agree with the opinion writer that birthright citizenship should be the rule of law for only those born of current U.S. citizens, and not for illegal immigrants. However, it’s not just President Biden’s fault. It’s Donald Trump’s fault as well as other previous administrations. The 14th Amendment still provides for immigrants to have U.S. birthright.
Not like us
Donald Trump was against the bill that would fund the government, which allows us to pay our debts. He said it was full of Democrat giveaways. Funding for recent hurricane relief was included in this bill.
State income tax
Gov. Reeves wants to end Mississippi’s income tax. The more money a person makes, the more they pay. Mississippi needs this Income tax because rich people pay way more money than the rest of us, and their money fills our coffers. It bothers Gov. Reeves that he has to pay more than the rest of us. He needs to eliminate our grocery tax, not our Income tax. With high grocery and gas prices now, eliminating the grocery tax would help the majority of us.
Never learn
Americans overwhelmingly rejected the politics of the progressives. And yet the Democrats soldier on. How many elections are they going to need to lose before they figure it out?
Mask up
Something is in the air, and it’s being passed around. This is where masks are needed, so wear one if you have a cough and must go shopping. It’s not political, it’s common sense.
FBI
Donald Trump wants the FBI to investigate Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson, so he better hurry, before Kash Patel dismantles the agency and turns the main headquarters into a museum.
