Mahoney’s suit

Here’s the problem with a class action law suit against Mary Mahoney’s. I ate there, but I didn’t have fish. How do you prove whether I did or not or what I ate? There’s too much room for the “where’s mine?” mentality people love to adopt.

Person of the Year

President-elect Donald J. Trump was named by the liberal news magazine TIME as Person of the Year. With good reason, as he ran a good campaign with the message Make America Great Again.

Too big a risk

Most people deserve a second chance to prove they have learned from their mistakes and grown. The Department of Defense is monumentally important for our country and not the place to test someone’s claim that they are a changed person. Pete Hegseth is a risk we cannot afford to take, but unfortunately it sounds more and more like he’s convinced our senators that he is worth it.

Dictatorship

I see now that senators are even threatening each other, promising their demise if they don’t rubber stamp everything Donald Trump wants. Checks and balances are there for a reason, to keep one person from putting the country in a stranglehold. Wouldn’t it be great if any of them cared about what’s good for America instead of what’s demanded of them by Donald Trump?

Insurance execs

In no way should we condone the killing of the United Healthcare CEO. It should serve as a wake-up call, however, to all insurance companies that systematically deny claims in hopes clients will just give up and not try to fight the denial. Mississippi’s own John Grisham wrote the novel “Rainmaker,” the plot of which involved an insurance company that denies every insurance claim submitted, regardless of validity. The proper way to deal with unscrupulous insurance companies is through the legal system, not through violence.

Personal freedom, civil liberty, democracy, and free enterprise are the fundamental principles of liberalism. Being described as liberal actually makes me proud. Keep sending those praises. It makes my day.

FBI director

Goodbye and good riddance to FBI Director Wray. Better obtain a lawyer, too, you will need one on Jan. 20.

Lying liars

No matter how coy Lara Trump and Ron DeSantis want to be, with DeSantis saying he won’t decide the appointment for senator until later, it’s already a done deal. They’re just lying, which makes them perfect for the Trump administration’s way of operating.

At it again?

Two weeks ago, Sound Off printed my post concerning the imprudence of allowing a sexual predator to go free after his 15 year sentence was suspended. Lo and behold, this man has been arrested again for similar allegations. The law requires his bond to be revoked and that he serve that sentence for violating the terms of probation, but I wouldn’t bet money on it given the history.

Free enterprise

Liberals live in “LaLa Land,” ignoring reality. Free enterprise is the very basis and foundation for the capitalist form of economy. Real liberals hate free enterprise. Why? Because it encourages people to succeed by their own hard work, ingenuity, and determination, as opposed to government free-for-nothing handout programs.

That was quick

Donald Trump didn’t even wait to be inaugurated to backtrack on one of his biggest campaign promises. He said he would cure inflation and lower prices. Now he admits his tariff plans may result in higher prices for the consumer. Really? I recall that’s just what the experts have been saying all along, which he said was bunk.

We were warned

A red flag the size of a barn was being furiously waved by almost everyone who ever worked under Donald Trump and enough people ignored it to elect him again. Was each and every one just a disgruntled employee?
