Free pass
I hope President Biden realizes he has given Donald Trump the perfect excuse for pardoning every person involved in Jan. 6 and every other criminal he chooses. It’s not a valid argument, but that never stops Trump.
CEO slain
The killing of the United Heath CEO is unquestionably awful. Having said that, perhaps some good could come of it if it shines a light on the terrible situation many Americans face on a daily basis with denials and deferrals of care.
Florida plan
Nominate Matt Gaetz for AG, knowing he would never be confirmed, have him resign and then withdraw his name, tap Ron DeSantis for a cabinet position, opening up a run for Florida governor by Gaetz. Tap Marco Rubio, opening up a sure-thing Senate seat for Lara Trump. Sounds like a plan to me.
He’s the man
Pete Hegseth is the right man for the job. His Secretary of Defense nomination is what our military needs right now. He is a warrior with a war fighter’s mentality. Stay the course, Pete. We’ve got your back.
Traffic enforcement
This past Thanksgiving holiday was an eye opening experience in the complete lack of traffic enforcement. Why are tax dollars being used for police when they are not enforcing the law? Sit at any traffic light and watch how many drivers run the red light. Or ignore stop signs. Or drive like they’re in the Indy 500. A hint for LEOs, the more people get away with, the more they will take. Note to city administrators and mayors : if I get injured because of someone running a traffic light or stop sign, they won’t be the only ones in court.
Confusing
What is the strategy behind nominating candidates who clearly could not pass a security clearance vetting like Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth? Surely there are qualified candidates without baggage.
Use the right metric
Invoking the “national popular vote” to describe the closeness of an election or — as in 2016 — to justify a desired different result, only matters in nations that use the “national popular vote” to select their leaders. Until that changes in the United States, all you are doing is spouting nonsense. Others want to assign electoral votes to the winner of the “national popular vote” as does a group of states is attempting to do. Sorry, but in 2024 that would have meant that Vice President Harris would only be getting 66 electoral votes instead of the 226 she will on Dec. 17. The system we have works, even when your favored candidate loses.
Poor service
Thanks for nothing, USPS. It’s Dec. 3rd and we just received the Door Buster ads for Ollie’s and others. These ads should have been delivered before Thanksgiving. Fire Louis DeJoy before he totally destroys the US Postal Service. Service just keeps getting worse.
‘Mainstream’
I am so sick of hearing how biased the “mainstream media” is against Republicans. FOX News is now mainstream, and you will never hear about Donald Trump’s pardon of criminal Charles Kushner, all the troubling allegations concerning their darling Pete Hegseth, or anything else that shines a light on questionable behavior by anyone on the right. Do people who only get their news from FOX News even know that they paid $787 million for promoting, without any evidence, Trump’s big lie and defaming Dominion?
Let’s see some teeth
Donald Trump always poises looking like a mugshot. Does he really think it makes him look strong? He looks angry and unhappy. Lighten-up dude, you won. You don’t have to keep auditioning for the job.
Nice choice
How could Donald Trump and his team of supposedly highly intelligent advisors not even bother to look into the background of Pete Hegseth? It only took the press 5 minutes to start uncovering all the salacious details. Are they that lazy, that incompetent, or do they just not care?
No mandate
Yes, Donald Trump won the election, one between 2 very bad candidates. But a mandate? Of course not, with 49.9% for Trump and 48.3% for Vice President Harris. Of the full electorate, only 63% voted, lower than 2020. So, 90 million stayed home and let the rest of us vote. Please stop with the chest pounding.
