As Obama said ...

There is a lot of hand wringing and character assassination of president-elect Trump’s nominations. Complain all you want. As former president Barack Obama said, “elections have consequences.” Perhaps you should give the administration a chance.

Winners and losers

All the attention given to casino winners by the Sun Herald is one-sided and potentially harmful. Sure, publish stories about lucky winners. I’m happy for them. I would love to be one. But also publish how much casino gamblers lost as compared to how much they won. Publish the probability of winning compared to probability of losing. At the very least that information could help young people be more realistic about the risks of gambling. Gambling can be exciting and fun if done responsibly, but it can only be done responsibly if people know the risks, and they can only know the risks if they are published.

Prices

We need more Sound Offs like the one that said other states are not experiencing high grocery prices. It’s always nice to start the day off with a good laugh.

Not so bad

Liberal heads are exploding with their predictions of gloom and doom. I can hardly wait to hear from them a year from now.

DEI

So Vice President Harris is a DEI hire but Pam Bondi is qualified?

Grocery store closings

Aldi is converting the Long Beach and Gulfport Winn Dixies by February 2025. With these conversions, Aldi will be adding to the unemployment rate. Yes, Aldi will employ no more than 15 people to work in each store. Look at the number of employees at these locations who will be out of work. Rouses will be my No. 1 grocery store. At least they will bag my groceries, not charge to use a shopping cart and not charge for a bag.

Get over it

One has to love all the recent Sound Offs claiming the sky is falling and the world is coming to an end with Donald Trump being elected. Get over it. We the people have spoken. You’ll be fine.
