Grants

Gov. Reeves says Mississippi will have $110,000 for economic projects across the state. We will have to wait and see if he divides it up with his pals.

Domination

Let there be no doubt: Donald Trump clearly and convincingly defeated Vice President Harris. Whether you like it or not, the American people have spoken with an overwhelming voice: More President Trump.

Electronic fireplace?

I can’t help wondering what was the carbon footprint of that “roaring,“ “crackling“ wood fire behind President Biden and Donald Trump.

Our turn

Y’all are gonna have to suck it up. Conservatives watched four years of mistake after mistake. The Biden-Harris administration failed at everything, from Afghanistan to the border.

Less government

Killing the weeds without taking out the roots is a waste of time and effort. Our government is too big and too invasive into the lives of the American people. DOGE is the right approach but will be aggravating and probably painful to some. A leaner, less invasive government will get our country back on the right track as envisioned by the founders.

Suckers

Let us laugh not at little children who believe in Santa Claus. After all, many of you believe in Donald Trump. We have become our own worst enemy.

Here we go

While the GOP loves to harp on how the Democrats spend money, they conveniently forget the first Trump administration’s no-ceiling spending and the addition to the national debt it caused. When Congress would only appropriate $1 billion for the “Mexican-funded” wall, President Trump bypassed them by signing a bogus national emergency order and stealing $7 billion from the Department of Defense, with the excuse it was only a drop in the bucket. There is a lot more to care about here besides the cost of gas and groceries.

How to win

Donald Trump has taught us twice how to win in presidential politics: make wild promises (e.g., I will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it), lie loudly and repeatedly, gaslight, insult, intimidate, and demonize. That has worked for him twice so it is probably the strategy that others will use now. Welcome to post-rational America. Facts are a matter of personal preference. Emotions rule.

Only the best

I see Donald Trump is off to his old failure mode in appointing loyalist supporters to his administration rather than anyone with any experience or credentials for the jobs.

Soon enough

I can hardly wait for the day when Donald Trump says of Elon Musk, “I don’t even know the guy. I might’ve met him once or twice.“

Trump’s picks

To call Donald Trump’s appointments unqualified is laughable, after the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle and the invasion of Ukraine.

Mortgage rates

Interest rates for mortgages have gone up again. That wasn’t one of Donald Trump’s campaign promises, so I guess some of us will continue to rent, which will increase.
