Dave Elliott

Reading Dave Elliott’s comments in the paper, it sounds like he quit instead of being reprimanded. We should be reminded there are other occupations where your political views are limited from being shared: Teachers, clerks for judges on the appellate courts, preachers are not supposed to influence their congregation. Seems like Dave is trying to get a job on a different network by stirring something up. I say good riddance.

Vehicle safety

I agree completely with the safety inspections Sound Off. I want to add that Mississippi needs to reinstate actual driver tests for people, particularly teenagers, applying for a first-time driver’s license. It was insane the state stopped the driver tests. Young people are not experienced drivers and need to be tested before getting a drivers license. It is dangerous driving with inexperienced drivers and unsafe vehicles on the roads.

Upside down

Comments supporting Dave Elliott’s “right“ to violate the rules are demonstrative of Trump followers‘ proclivity to call a blue sky green. One more reason he must not be elected; we need to return to our previous state of political dysfunction, without all of the animosity.

MSG rally

If you took the time to watch Donald Trump’s rally in his hometown of New York City, you’d seen there were no Nazis, no Hitler. The venue was festive and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The ‘secret’

Donald Trump’s statements about a “dirty little secret” between him and Speaker Mike Johnson, obliquely referencing a compact with the Speaker of the House on actions to overturn the election should he lose, is truly sickening.

Roadwork

You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me: I leave for over a week to visit family and friends up north and the “malfunction junction” Woolmarket roundabout is still not done?!

Hot mic

So, Vice President Harris caught on a hot mic stating her campaign needed help getting male votes. Are we allowed to agree with her statement? Or is there a total ban on saying anything negative about her?
