No endorsement?
In a statement Friday, The Washington Post declined to endorse a candidate for president. In elections past, the paper has always endorsed the Democrat. Guess nobody likes Vice President Harris.
Tarriffs
OK, enough with the daily liberal Sound Offs about tariffs. I hate to break it to you, but Donald Trump was in office for 4 years. He placed some tariffs on Chinese goods, and prices remained the same. He negotiated down the trade deficit and had China agree to purchase more U.S. products. President Biden stepped in and reversed all of Trump’s policies. Now we have high prices. Remember, voting has consequences.
Elliott out at WLOX
David Elliot saying he was going to quit his job at WLOX-TV in a couple of months anyway because he has better things on the horizon sounds like someone trying to save face after being fired. His claim of political satire sounds an awfully lot like Donald Trump’s handlers trying to excuse his outrageous statements by saying it was a joke. I believe he should be able to state his opinions on his off time, but bottom line, he had to know that post would not be tolerated by his employer.
Elliott’s views
I would never have known David Elliot’s political views had he not been fired from WLOX, as I eschew all social media — nor did I care if he leaned left or right. On the air he was impartial, as it must be, but I’m not sure I get why he can’t post his opinions in his off-air time. However, I am disturbed by anyone stating if you can’t vote for my candidate, then don’t vote at all. Not cool.
Should have been sooner
It’s about time: Dave Elliott has been injecting his right-wing politics into his broadcasts for years.
No surprise
If David Elliot, formerly of WLOX, thinks he’s been impartial during his tenure, he needs to think again.
Freedom of speech
So much for freedom of speech: Just ask Dave Elliot. If he had said something bad about Donald Trump, the media company would probably have given him a raise.
