FEMA threats

It is shameful that disaster assistance for some North Carolina Helene victims is being slowed because FEMA personnel are being threatened by armed militias. Donald Trump and friends are spreading lies that FEMA disaster funds are being used for immigrant housing instead of the disaster. It is a lie. FEMA disaster funds are only used for disasters. Trump should be ashamed. Leaders help their constituents, they don’t make life harder for them.

FEMA is helping

My brother lives in a mobile home in a St. Petersburg retirement community. When he returned to check on his home the day after the storm, FEMA was already in his area with a team of people. They met with everyone in the area, took pictures of each property and gave information to everyone to help them thru the assistance process. I commend FEMA for the great job it is doing.

Listen

Listen carefully to Sen. Vance when he tells you what he wants for our country, especially for women and girls. If Donald Trump wins, Vance will only be one Big Mac away from the highest office in the land.

The vice president

Hopefully it’s not too late for the country to remember why Vice President Harris only received 1 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary four years ago. People didn’t see her as a good presidential candidate. Has it changed since then?

Electoral College

Getting rid of the Electoral College will probably ensure that all future presidents are elected by the most populous areas of the county, which more often than not vote Democrat. That will cause all future presidents to be Democrat, but then perhaps that’s what you wish.

Rouses

There’s so much excitement about the opening of the new Rouses in Biloxi that you would think Disney was getting ready to open a new park on the Gulf Coast. We’ve been waiting a long time for this.

Vote

I’m middle-class. All the free giveaways politicians are promising are not helpful to my family, as we do not qualify for any. We pay full price for everything, including colleges. What we do qualify for is the income tax bracket to make sure those programs are funded.

Religion

To the person inquiring which church Donald Trump attends, I have never heard of him attending any church. I have, however, heard him say he has never asked God for forgiveness for anything.

Popular vote

The Electoral College now makes the smallest states rule our presidential elections. The last few presidents that got in that way were losers in the popular vote. We need to get rid of the Electoral College and rely on the American voters to make the winner.

Let us pray

To the Sound Off that questioned the appropriateness of Donald Trump selling bibles when he apparently doesn’t attend church. The answer is simple: H thinks he is a holy deity, therefore he has started his own church. Gives new meaning to the phrase “In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.” The new phrase is “In the name of Trump, Don Jr., Eric and Giuliani.” Let us pray. Seriously, whatever denomination you are, we need to pray a lot to keep arrogant, pompous, self-righteous, holier-than-thou, ego-maniacs out of the White House.

60 Minutes

After the way the liberal network cut and pasted Vice President Harris’ interview on 60 Minutes to somehow make her rambling sound reasonably coherent, Donald Trump was smart not do the the interview. They would not have cut and pasted in his favor. Their license should be pulled.

Centrists needed

I am afraid that our country is hopelessly divided between the extremists, both left and right. The only solution is to elect more centrist political leaders. The solution has to be somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum. Centrist is not compromise. For example: Close down the border, and allow entry only at legal points of entry and enforce the laws established by Congress.
