EV charging
You are correct about being able to charge EVs most everywhere. Thankfully, there are natural gas power plants available to charge them.
Jobs being taken
Staying at a hotel in a city for a month I observed cleaning ladies who spoke little English. I suspect some were housed by the hotel. They cleaned all day and did a good job. Businesses are using immigrants to do jobs cheaper. The same for produce pickers in Florida, Texas and California. They are not replacing us, they are doing jobs we won’t do for these low wages. If you want to blame somebody, blame the businesses that are only concerned with making a profit.
Rubber-band man
VP candidate Tim Walz advocates removing the Electoral College system, which the Founding Fathers placed in our constitutional form of government precisely to insure every vote counts, the opposite of what Walz declares. Without it, the popular vote would only reflect the largest populated states, while Mississippi or Montana need not bother to vote. Walz, the rubber-band man, has tried to wriggle out of the backlash his comments generated. Not changed his view — just trying to slip slide away from it til the election.
Fact-checking
I read Sound Off every day. Many of them are quite informative. Others are plain and simply misinformation. Some of these Sound Off writers need to fact-check their fact-checking. I cannot help to wonder where they get their information.
Jerusalem
Jerusalem, the most contested piece of real estate in the world. It has been ruled by Canaanites, Egyptians, Jebusites, Israelites, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Crusaders, Ottomans and the British. It has been destroyed at least twice, besieged 23 times, captured 44 times and attacked 52 times. It’s one of the oldest cities in the world and holy to Jews, Christians and Muslims. Right now, Israel is defending its nation and, ultimately, the city from Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthi terrorists acting on behalf of Iran.
Fahrenheit 451
More and more states and communities have enacted or considered bans on gas powered lawn equipment. Baltimore, Portland, Washington state, New Jersey, Colorado, Santa Cruz, Virginia, Michigan, California, Wisconsin, Connecticut and Minnesota to name a few. The common thread is they are all Democrat enclaves and their priorities are often skewed. For instance, Colorado had no problem legalizing marijuana, but heaven forbid you have a gas-powered leaf blower.
Evil plan
Donald Trump and his minions are lying to undermine FEMA. Speaker Johnson refuses to call the House back in session to fund the disaster. He claims they already funded FEMA, but some of the money was for past disaster relief. Their mission is to undermine President Biden’s efforts and, in proxy, Vice President Harris. This is an evil plan.
