The best part

There are a lot of reasons I love to see the cruisers come to town each year, but my favorite is that the City of Biloxi finally cuts the grass along the main roadways and picks up trash and debris as soon as it is on the curbs. Come back any time, cruisers. Enjoy your week.

A dud

Vice President Harris on the softball CBS 60 Minutes completely flopped like a ground mullet. She cannot answer a basic question about the economy, inflation or her/our border.

Disgusting

While walking at the southeastern waterfront at Biloxi’s Point Cadet, I saw vandalism on a concrete retaining wall. Someone painted “Patriot Front” in large red and blue letters. Any desecration of our public property is heinous, but I didn’t know what “Patriot Front” was. Now I do. It’s a white nationalist hate group that formed in the aftermath of the deadly ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. What a horrible greeting to residents and visitors! I hope the powers that be can remove this disgusting vandalism

Anyone helping?

I wonder how many countries are sending aid to the US for hurricane relief efforts.

MAGA carnival

Most of us just go for the carnival actors, thrill seekers, food vendors, and dealers of over-priced magalobilia. They don’t pay us enough to actually go inside, unless you just want to go inside for a little while to let parking lot clear out.

It’s not hate

Yes, I’m voting against Donald Trump. If any other Republican candidate had won the nomination, I would have at least considered other choices. Hate is a strong word that is very personal. I don’t care enough about Trump to hate him. I will give him credit for bringing to light all the racists that live among us.

Evil

Donald Trump is taking advantage of the misery of Helene to promote false information against President Biden. He’s been attending photo ops causing extra stress on the local first responders.

EVs

A huge part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s green ambitions has been electric vehicles. The current plan calls for 500,000 charging stations to be built by 2030. In the Inflation Reduction Act, they allocated several billion dollars for charging stations. So far there are only 64,212 available nationwide. Based on the current growth rate of the number of charging ports, America is way off target. Buy your EV but good luck on using it for anything beyond a small circumference around your home.

Disaster funds

No, Biden-Harris did not spend FEMA disaster funds on illegal immigrants. The Republicans in the House, which controls the money, did not approve more disaster funds for FEMA. Instead they went on break.

Too busy?

So Ron DeSantis was too busy to take a call from the vice president? I’m guessing he won’t be too busy to request some of those sweet, sweet federal dollars, though.

Great debate

What I take away from the vice presidential debate is not who won or lost, but that decorum and civility can still exist in political events, in spite of the train wreck that is Donald Trump. America will never be able to exhale until he is ousted from politics for good.

Good luck

Praying for our friends in Florida, as Hurricane Milton looks like it could be a Katrina in the making.
