Real interviews

Of course Vice President Harris must be subjected to real press conferences, serious interviews and vigorous debates. If elected she will have the power to force my grandkids to go to another country and get disfigured or die for her political whims. President Johnson succeeded JFK without such scrutiny and over 58,000 of my closest friends were returned to their mothers in an aluminum box. To this day Vice President Harris only seeks softball interactions where she won’t be fact checked.

Voter influence

Young teens have more influence than you think. Especially with their parents. They are more socially conscious about the environment, gun control and especially a girls/woman’s reproductive rights.

TV news

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the new WLOX news format seems to be nothing more than a 90 minute platform for innumerable commercials interspersed with a few 30 and 60 second news spots and a bunch of “First Alert” weather reports?

Amendments

Who decided the Second Amendment was more sacred than the other 27? The first 10 are called the Bill of Rights. The right to free speech, religion, assembly, press and assembly. Yet these same Second Amendment advocates believe that Christianity should be the only religion in schools, etc. Free speech is only OK if it doesn’t contradict what you believe or think. Freedom to assembly only if it’s not done by the other side. I guess that why some extremists want to abolish the Constitution.

A shame

This conservative believes that history will look back on the Donald Trump era as embarrassing.

Coast Electric

Concerning the Coast Electric mess, every customer who was underbilled should have been prepared for paying it back. There is no way people didn’t realize that their bill was suddenly half of what it used to be for comparable months. The co-op shouldn’t have caved to the whiners. I would have solved the problem by giving those customers a small discount for the mistake then charging $5 a month til paid. If they discontinued service, then let them make a payment plan. How can something this dumb even happen?

Budget

Speaker Johnson is once again holding up certification of our national budget. He and his cronies are threatening a government shutdown. Reason: The stopgap bill that will require voters to show proof of citizenship at the polls. This is a waste of time and resources. Johnson met with Donald Trump who wants him to shut down the government. What could Trump’s motive be?
