It’s a Catch-22. Imported seafood will kill the local seafood industry, and high-cost local seafood will kill the local seafood restaurants.

They must have thrown their diners a line. They got hooked. It was all fishy. Might turn out to be a sinker.

Anita Lee has done it again. It seems odd that our local officials lack the ability to see beyond their nose when millions of dollars are involved. She, however, brings us the stories that expose these supposed “shortcomings.” The story about how the Ocean Springs leaders completely overlooked or ignored the background of a developer is one of these great rides. This developer promises a hotel extraordinaire — with only a $5 million buy-in. Yeah, we got trouble right here in River City. Thank goodness Ms. Lee is on our side.

Sour grapes

There’s a lot of negativity about celebrities at the Democratic National Convention. Donald Trump tried, but all he could come up with were Hulk Hogan, a porn star, and Hannity. Nobody with any sense wants to be associated with him.

It’s ... our fault?

For years, our paper has tried to destroy Brett Farve, who did not commit a crime. Now they are bent on destroying Mary Mahoney’s, which is a credit to our Coast.

Freedoms

It’s the Democrats who are always spouting about how we must keep the Republicans out of control, or we will lose our freedoms. But funny, it was the Biden administration that conspired with Facebook during the the 2020 election season to suppress conservation viewpoints leading up to the election.

Debate

Donald Trump will not debate Vice President Harris, because he is afraid to do so, and he will make excuses in an attempt to justify his cowardice.

America’s business

It used to be said that “The business of America is business.” Now the business of America is entertainment.

Fairly chosen

Vice President Harris was next in line because President Biden was dropping out, and she was elected by the Democrat party, not the government. Because the time was short that was what was done and it was all legal.

Use common sense

The honest thing is that a certain percentage of people don’t do well in our country under any administration. We all know people that just can’t hold on to a job because of the attitude that they know best and can’t accept directions from their bosses. They go from job to job and after a while no one wants to hire them. We all understand that the boss could be wrong but not all of them all the time. The idea that you are always right is a fault and we should be wary of someone wanting people to blindly follow any and all that he wants.

She’s not hiding

What’s with all this talk about Vice President Harris hiding? Is this something you heard and are repeating? You must be talking about Donald Trump hiding in the basement during the Jan. 6 riots. There are videos of that.

Immigration

This country is being ruined by the Democrats allowing people into this country, only to destroy it. We don’t need any more people. We have more than enough. Stop it. What are you people thinking?
