The DNC

Democrats had a great party in Chicago. Peace and love, equality for all. All while the key speakers flew in on their private jets. All millionaires. Seems to me they need to practice what they preach and spread the wealth.

Postal problems

I’m 82 and handicapped. For the first time in my life I feel like I am being discriminated against by the Postal Service when to mail an envelope I now have to exit my car, get my stroller out of the trunk and roll into the building proper. If they are vandalized, then put a pneumatic tube like the banks use to draw the envelope in. Why does it seem we are having more things aimed at making seniors’ lives more difficult?

Trump’s words

Donald Trump was responsible for the most peaceful and strongest economic times in this country’s history. If he wants to talk some smack I’m fine with that.

Drug costs

President Biden is negotiating with big pharmaceutical companies on lowering the cost of some drugs. He also supports universal health care for all. What is Donald Trump’s plan?

Disinformation

FOX News paid almost $800 million for spreading lies about voting machine irregularities in the last election. Despite this fact, and numerous Republican investigations in Arizona that found no evidence of machine fraud, the big lie continues. Disinformation and lies promoted by politicians and unchallenged by media is a threat to democracy. News media and journalists should immediately challenge obvious false statements.

Now what?

I’m glad to hear that Donald Trump wants all states to vote on abortions. Unfortunately, Mississippi has killed the ballot initiative that allows us to vote on issues. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Balance

American culture seems to revolve a lot around Hollywood, star entertainers, athletes, late night talk show hosts and the like. All mistaken for people of importance. I’ve needed a doctor and a teacher. I need farmers everyday, and I’ve needed a plumber, auto mechanic and other everyday people periodically in my life. But I’ve never, not even once needed a pro athlete, media personality or Hollywood entertainer for anything.
