It’s not her
Many posts from the right in this column in the past month have blamed Vice President Harris for all the country’s problems, and asked why she has not solved them in her 3+ years in office. The answer is already known to them, and is very simple: She is not the president. She does not make the policies of the Biden White House
Roadwork
Work on Martin Bluff Road is reportedly entering the halfway point. Does this mean it will be another 10 years? I’ll be dead by then. Time for new leadership in Guatier.
Bad decision
Our local cable company is pathetic, choosing to show a meaningless preseason NFL Saints game over the Little League World Series championship game.
News now
It is so frustrating when a WLOX reporter introduces a news story at 5 p.m., presents enough information to gain the viewer’s interest, yet does not finish it and tells viewers that the story will continue on the 10 p.m. news. This happens all the time. Please stop doing this. Present the whole story. I’m in bed sleeping at 10 p.m.
Good program
Recently, I had a medical procedure that required very expensive medical supplies to help me heal. Thankfully, my insurance covered 90 percent. I completed the process faster than expected and had leftover supplies. It was then that I learned from my nurse practitioner that the medical group they belong to has a program that accepts leftover, unused, unexpired supplies to give to patients who cannot afford them. I encourage everyone to ask their medical professional if they accept, or know where to donate, those kinds of supplies.
The border
Donald Trump had 4 years to fix the border and failed. He couldn’t even build a wall. And to make it worse his previously pardoned key advisor, Steve Bannon (currently in jail for contempt of Congress) is also charged with stealing build-a-wall public donations. Its notable that Trump, a felon himself, killed the bipartisan bill to fix the border. He doesn’t want it resolved, he wants his corporate friends to have cheap labor to increase profits and to divide the nation.
Not elected
What bothers me about Vice President Harris is she was not elected by citizens. This is how politics is run in China. The government will pick who gets to run for offices. Then the citizens vote. She was not elected by our citizens in the presidential primaries.
Biloxi streets
Someone asked if Biloxi could finish Beauvoir Road before Cruisin’ the Coast. I thought it was finished: I haven’t seen Necaise brothers working on the road in months. It is the typical work that they do paving Biloxi. Just look at the east and west ends of Howard Avenue. What a joke. I can hardly wait to see the job they will do on this new connector road on Popp’s Ferry. We need a paving company that can make the manhole covers level with the street, and show some pride in their work.
The Democrats
I think the Democratic party is a reflection of our failed education system.
Trump and Kennedy
RFK Jr. has endorsed Donald Trump and that makes perfect sense. Trump thinks COVID can be treated by injecting bleach. Kennedy thinks 92% of COVID deaths in England were COVID-vaccinated people and claims a worm ate part of his brain. You just can’t make up this stuff. Listening to these two wierdos is better than a circus performance.
The old candidate
Let’s get real here. Republicans barked for months that President Biden was in decline and getting senile. Now that Donald Trump is exhibiting all the same signs and then some, not one Republican has a word to say about it. They are stuck with their choice, since they allowed him to put the party in a stranglehold years ago by not ousting him when he pulled stunt after stunt and so deserved to be kicked to the curb. The Republican Party is the party of wimps and hypocrites.
Defending Trump
You may not agree with Donald Trump’s tweets, name-calling or his personal history, but he has energy, ideas and the ability to be flexible with supporters and policies. But he’s consistent with the main issues close to average citizens. He has been called everything from Hitler, dictator, KKK and too old to be a president by the Democrats. He has every right to fight back with name-calling to gain momentum. JD Vance ain’t no slouch, either.
