Olympics

A big raspberry to Sparklight for their scheduling of women’s soccer. Except for one game, every time we’ve tried to watch soccer, today for example, it’s been running, water polo, basketball, handball, but no soccer. And don’t get me started on Peacock.

Can’t believe them

With our local TV stations constantly whitewashing President Biden, Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz, why are we supposed to believe them on the weather?

No interviews

As Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz make their way through swing states, has anyone asked why they haven’t done any interviews? Has anyone noticed it’s the same exact speech everyday? It’s really weird.

Rogan is wrong

RFK has no chance of winning the 2024 presidential election. Joe Rogan must be a Democrat to suggest voting for RFK, rather than Donald Trump. Trump may be rough and tough around the edges, but if you look at his accomplishments in his last term, he comes out as the clear choice for president in 2024. If you are dissatisfied with the last three years, the only choice to change this country’s direction is Donald J. Trump.

Needs to speak

Why won’t Vice President Harris hold a press conference? What is she scared of?

Home problems

The story about Mr. Kiesau of Ocean Springs is absolutely appalling and deeply disturbing. Someone in that city needs to rectify this situation. Who would cut all those trees thinking it would not affect the adjacent home. I hope the community will respond and help this man.

Mary Mahoney’s

The Sun Herald needs a reality check. There is no greater icon, nor promoter, of the Mississippi Gulf Coast than Mary Mahoney’s. OK, so they made a mistake. But they’ve already paid for that mistake by “agreeing to forfeit up to $1,350,000.” So now, some guy from Mobile, who ate at Mary’s three times in six years, has teamed up with “three law firms – two in Ridgeland and one in Mobile – (who) want financial damages awarded for ‘all persons residing in the United States who purchased foreign fish at Mary Mahoney’s.’ ” We all know how that’s going to turn out; the lawyers will want to settle for at least a million dollars each for them — and a free dessert for the affected customers the next time they dine at Mary’s. But the Sun Herald notes that this is part of their Reality Check series “holding those in power to account and shining a light on their decisions.” Yeah, you’re going to shine a light on this icon of the Gulf Coast all the way to bankruptcy. The lawsuit, whether warranted or not, is newsworthy; just not in the sensational manner the Sun Herald chose to portray in its news pages.

More mud

JD Vance had the audacity to attack the Democratic VP candidate on his military service. Gov. Walz retired with 24 years of service in the National Guard and was Command Sergeant Major. JD Vance quit after 4 years as a public affairs journalist traveling with civilian media and didn’t even make sergeant. Corporal Vance claims Walz dodged deployment by retiring. Any military member knows your retirement papers are submitted many months in advance of retirement. Walz unit didn’t get tasked for deployment until months after his retirement. I guess 24 years weren’t enough for mudslinger Vance. They should both be commended for their service but this is yet another ridiculous and insulting attack by Vance.

Not voted on

The Democrat leaders picked Vice President Harris as their presidential candidate, not the Democrat voters. So it’s like, Democrats, we picked who you are to vote for. Sounds kinda like a Socialist country.

Bureaucracy

The United States bureaucracy has gotten so bad, none of the three branches can obtain information from seemingly any other governmental agency. Legal issues are stonewalling any efforts for very important investigations. It’s getting too complicated to function. God help us.

Need more proof?

Now that the Gulf waters are rising at an alarming rate and wildfires are happening in our backyards, can we at least entertain the notion that Global Warming is a concern? It’s should not be a political issue. It’s a science issue.

Disgraceful

Critiquing Gov. Waltz and Sen. Vance’s military service is unpatriotic. There are many non-combat military jobs. Keesler Air Force Base is filled with non-combat soldiers. It’s a shameful discussion, especially from those who never served.
