COVID and the Olympics

Does the IOC have no rules concerning athletes who come down with COVID-19 during the Games? One particularly braggadocios runner decided to participate anyway, and put many people at risk including competitors, officials, spectators and even his own well-being was compromised. Definitely not America’s finest hour at the games. No respect for this guy, no matter how many records he holds. He is another one who thinks the entire world revolves around him. How incredibly selfish.

Riots

Donald Trump wanted to send the National Guard on the rioters in Minneapolis, yet he stood by and let the Jan. 6 rioters cause death and destruction at the United States Capitol. By the way, 2 people died in the Minneapolis riot, and 5 people died in the January riot. Which was worse?

Weird

The right started complaining that a 77 year old was too old to run for president in 2015, bashed his age continuously the next 3 1/2 years even after he decided not to run for reelection, and now wholeheartedly support electing an even older 78-year-old candidate, who uses a physician whose medical license is suspended. How weird is that?

Children

It never ceases to amaze me how uninformed these Donald Trump-haters are with their posts. It was JD Vance who made the comment about childless women, not Trump. But you are so owned by Trump with your hatred of him, you can’t get your facts straight.

Repetition

It seems like a lot of you prescribe to the idea that if you repeat a lie over and over people will believe it. No new or specific references, just sound bites. Sorry, that’s why being “woke” us important. We remember what you say and compare to what you said.

Fit for office

To the person questioning Donald Trump’s ability to be a good president, I suggest you compare his record with the current president. Gas was $2 a gallon, interest rates on home loans were 2.3%. Inflation was less than 2% and the economy was booming. There were no wars and we only had about 3,000 troops in Afghanistan. I may not like Trump personally, but he will turn our economy around and end the border crisis.

Stopping drowning

Ukraine is killing heavy Russian tanks with small drones carrying stripped down armor-piercing artillery shells. A guy taking part in a CrossFit swimming competition drowned in full view of people and lifeguards in the grandstands. Why aren’t drones capable of rapidly delivering a life jacket to a struggling swimmer and increasing the chances of that person surviving until a lifeguard gets to him?
