Vice President Harris
Vice President Kamala Harris is doing her best to rebrand herself, her record as a radical, and her history. She was picked by President Biden as a DEI hire like his cabinet. A total and complete failure.
No tax relief
The Senate fell short, as expected, of the 60 votes needed to start debate on a $79 billion tax bill that would deliver financial relief to businesses and low-income families, amid opposition from most Republicans and some on the majority side of the aisle as well. JD Vance was not present to vote. He was campaigning.
Trump’s obsession
Donald Trump’s obsession over whether Kamala Harris is Black or not and whether she has been duplicitous about her heritage is an insult to Black voters. It’s as though he thinks Black voters can’t decide for themselves whether Harris is Black and whether it matters. They don’t need his help with those issues. Or is he, rather than trying to win Black voters, trying to turn White voters against Harris by questioning her heritage, in spite of the fact that her father is from Jamaica, which is historically Black, she attended a historically Black university and has belonged, and does belong, to many Black organizations.
A little history
Quit being offended at the “Christian Last Summer” spoof at the Olympics. It was not The Last Supper. “Jesus” was actually Dionysis, the mythical Greek god of celebration and wine. If you don’t know anything about Greek and Roman myths, it would be interesting to read some. They are great stories and most have a lesson.
Political parties
Political parties are not mentioned in the Constitution. The Republican party and the Democrat party have the absolute right to run their primaries and to make rules on how to conduct their primaries. And they have the right to change those rules. If a Democrat or a Republican doesn’t like the way a primary is conducted he or she may opt to not vote for the party nominee or he or she can vote as they please in the election.
Secret service
Homeland Security was created after 9/11 because of the lack of communications between various government agencies. Now, 23 years later, an attempted assassination of a presidential candidate is blamed on a failure to communicate between Secret Service and local law enforcement. How much more time do we need to get it right?
Poor California
I pride myself on keeping up with the political news, but I have been remiss, because somehow I missed the total destruction of California, engineered by Kamala Harris, as a Sound Off writer states. And I thought it was wildfires that were the real danger.
