Development
I read the article about the brothers who have taken over Pass Christian, buying up as much green space as possible and developing homes/apartments that will be short-term rentals in the business area. There are many citizens that are upset about this over-development in our little town and want it to stop.
A failure
Since 2021, the border has been VP Kamala Harris’ responsibility. She failed miserably. She had one job, and she let as many illegal immigrants in as possible.
Whine and sue
Is there anything or anyone the Republican Party won’t sue just to obstruct, delay, or cause chaos? Now they want to keep Kamala Harris from having access to Biden/Harris election funds. It never stops.
Help needed
I traveled by foot this morning on Victory Street on my way to Firestone during prime student drop-off time. I had to stop and walk in the wet grass when cars came from both sides of the road. At Courthouse Road there is no crosswalk, so I had to navigate that along with another pedestrian in the middle of the road. Courthouse Road has sidewalks on both sides, but there were no pedestrians using them. I guess you have to have a business. Do better, Gulfport.
Let’s hear it
Donald Trump needs to tell us his plan to close the border, offer an alternate health plan, and explain how he will deal with both wars. All he will say is that he can solve these issues by just picking up the phone.
No surprise
President Biden didn’t catch party, staff and donors off-guard. It was widely expected that he would withdraw over the weekend, or perhaps Monday. And it was the party that forced his decision.
Bad purchase
Dodge police cruisers are too low to the ground. They stall in standing water. Are we still buying them?
Speak for yourself
In response to An Interesting Exit, I’m a Democrat. I wasn’t caught off-guard at all. I thought the writing was on the wall that President Biden would do what is best for the country, and his party, and drop his candidacy for president.
New roads
The city of Biloxi is going to start building the Popps Ferry extension now. How about finishing Howard Avenue and Beauvoir Road? The new streets in East Biloxi are awful. Biloxi has a small portion of Pass Road, which is very hard to navigate without destroying your vehicle. Fix our old streets before you start building new ones that will be full of low manhole covers. Gulfport, your city is just as bad or worse.
Medicare cuts
Congress is proposing a 2.8 percent cut for Medicare reimbursements starting in Jan. 2025. If you think your medical care will be more difficult, get ready. Inflation is killing our economy and increased overhead doesn’t help. Now, with mandated electronic medical records, increased various fees, increased insurance, increased costs of medical supplies and increased salaries for adequate staff, we will see a decrease in available services. Hospitals, especially rural, will close or limit expensive services. Better start taking better care of yours, because no one else will be available medically. Apparently we cannot afford the medical care we desire. Technology costs a lot.
Next
President Biden stepped down because of age and health. Donald Trump’s mental state is clearly impaired and he knows little about how the government works. Maybe he should step down, too.
Worried?
It’s telling that the only ones complaining about President Biden dropping out of the race are Republican MAGAs. Now there is concern for democracy. What about the rioters on Jan. 6? They wanted to overthrow an election. Y’all need to go sit down somewhere.
