Guess we’re ‘nobody’

The lawyer who said “nobody wants a sidewalk on East Beach” in Ocean Springs apparently doesn’t seem to realize there’s more people than him, Buddy Gunn, and Neil Harris in the world. We also need parking in the public right-of-way along the road opposite of the beach, so beach goers don’t have to park in the street as some do now. I can think of at least three prime spots to put restrooms or picnic tables, also.

Apology first

Those of you who think African-Americans need to move on from slavery because it happened so long ago, need to put yourself in our situation. If someone harmed you or did you wrong, wouldn’t you want at the least an apology from them? Happy Juneteenth!

Not their fault

My husband and I are low-middle class. I don’t resent or believe homeless or undocumented people “come out on top.” I resent the very rich that Donald Trump gave huge tax breaks to, including himself. They are the ones hurting the middle class and poor.

Juneteenth

Juneteenth is celebrated to commemorate the day the last slaves were freed in the Texas. They hadn’t been told of the Emancipation Proclamation. Why does that offend you? Instead some of you celebrate a war that was fought to preserve slavery where humans were forced to work without being paid.

I’m confused

Evangelicals want to ban in-vitro fertilization and abortions. They need to make up their minds. Pro-life or control of a woman’s reproductive rights. Using your religious beliefs to move forward a political agenda seems like the motive here.

Moving backward

The Southern Baptists are expelling churches that support female pastors. Look, stop trying to turn back time. You can’t stop progress. Evolution is the natural order of life. If you don’t adapt and grow, you die.

Utility work

When utility workers are working on Pass Road or any other major roadway, why are drivers given almost no warning until they’re on top of the work site? How many accidents have happened at these sites when a driver comes around a curve and finds a police car parked in the road directly behind a utility truck? Can’t we have a little advance warning, please?
