The new Democrat

To the ex- Republican that is now a Democrat: You say Donald Trump and the Republicans have run this country into the ground. I can understand why you are now a Democrat. You are not even aware that Joe Biden and the liberals have been in charge for years now. If you can’t figure out who is in the White House right now, you sound like just their type of voter. Welcome aboard.

Speed limit

Thank you, Sun Herald, for your well-written article about speeding. The most important sentence in the article is “If you are in the left lane and someone wants to pass, move over and let them by.” It will be interesting to see how many rebuttals are submitted by “Mr. Slow Driver.”

No touching

I’ve noticed over the years that physicians do not do actual physical exams. They rely on numbers from tests and computer references. All this is necessary, but there are signs that you only see with your eyes. And nurse practitioners are not practicing nursing skills either. Some just record data. Robotic body scans are not here yet, so we need you to look at us.

Gone too far

Pet owners are now paying taxidermists to preserve their pets. Is loneliness so unbearable that you can’t let go? How about adopting a cause by helping the elderly or the environment?

School priorities

The “School Funding” Sound Off inadvertently hit the nail on the head. In today’s world, people want to send their kids to private schools because of the curriculum. In private schools, the emphasis is on teaching a curriculum the kids need. Curriculum in public schools ends up being dictated by a political leaning Department of Education, union leaders and, often, a political-leaning school board. Compare reading and math scores of public and private schools at all grade levels. That is the reason those who can afford it send their kids to private schools and why we should allow tax dollars to give lower income kids that same educational opportunity.

Not so Supreme

In recent times a Taco Supreme is better than the Supreme Court. The taco may give you a short stomach ache, the not-so Supreme Court could end democracy. By mindlessly delaying Donald Trump’s cases, they are allowing him to avoid court to face his charges until after the election where he will pardon himself. By breaking SCOTUS appointment norms, and placing his handpicked judges to tilt the scale, he could end Democracy. Supporters should be ashamed.

Lights?

You want to waste Jackson County’s federal money grab on lights that benefit the safety of our communities while Ocean Springs desperately needs a harbor built in the most unprotected location on the beach where children play in the water every day?
