Parking in the Bay

As someone noted Saturday, the Bay doesn’t have a parking problem but rather a walking problem. That did use to be the case, at least it seemed that way several years ago. However, not so now. The ambiance of the town is gone. And yes, there is a free parking garage although it is out of the way and not signed well or maintained. Its location and lack of a consistent working elevator, along with graffiti and weeds, is not a good welcome mat for visitors. Makes it difficult for older shoppers as well as people purchasing large pieces of art. Let’s face it. The Bay only wants to attract young people who will walk a mile for live music and a bar! And they park farther away than the garage!

Huge loss on the Coast

The Coast suffered a huge loss last week with the passing of Chris Moore. Chris was the local voice of the National Anthem for decades. He never refused to perform and his smooth yet booming vocals will be remembered for years to come. At churches he would sing “It is Well with my Soul”, so passionately it would bring tears to your eyes.”

America first

It pains me to say this, but we cannot fund the Ukraine’s fight for freedom forever! America first. Always.

Student loan forgiveness

The idea of forgiving student loans is nonsense. I borrowed money to attend college and I paid it back. Just because times get hard doesn’t mean you should not pay your loan payments. If President Biden forgives current loans, he should also give me my money back. That would be the fair thing to do.

Control the price of gas

If we really want to lower the price of gas, we need to stop paying the high price. We’re complaining about high gas prices, and at the same time, we’re consuming more gas than ever before. Hit big oil where it hurts — in their deep pockets. It will only take a matter of days for prices to drop if we restrict our fuel consumption to only essential travel.
