Go vote on Tuesday

If you want a reason to vote consider this: In 1964 in Greenwood, there was a voter registration campaign in which 1,062 people were arrested, 80 Freedom Summer workers were beaten, 37 churches were bombed or burned, 30 Black homes or businesses were bombed or burned, four civil rights workers were killed, four people were critically wounded and at least three Black Mississippians were murdered because of their support for their desire to have the freedom to vote. Don’t let those who sacrificed for our right to vote go unanswered.

Gun control

Recent mass shootings in Texas and the East Coast are horrific. After these shootings, outraged Democrats immediately push for their long term gun control agenda. Virtually every week we have the equivalent of those mass shootings just in Chicago with hand guns. Democrats hardly mention it, because it’s not on the agenda. A mother or family grieving the senseless shooting of their child or family member is the same in both cases.

Unusable piers

Its really disappointing that the Porter Avenue Pier is not usable for this summer season.

Fame, money, power

I do not know what historically people who seek fame, money and power were called, but today they are called Republicans. Ask Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell if you don’t believe me.

School uniforms

What is wrong with the Pascagoula-Gautier School Board? They recently did away with uniforms. This will only present another avenue for students to bully another student who cannot afford name brand clothes. They will ridicule them for wearing non-name brand items. Just in case you don’t remember, most school shootings that occur are done by students who have been bullied. Please reconsider reversing your decision and keep our kids safe.
