Help me understand

Help me understand why a person’s constitutional right to bear arms supersedes a person’s (especially a child’s) constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

It starts with bullying

Not every bullied student will turn into a mass murderer, but almost every student school shooter was bullied, picked on and socially ignored by classmates. Eliminating bullying in schools should be a grassroots effort in all grades from given recent events. Bullying can make school a place to be feared and dreaded by those targeted.

The problem with the NRA

The problem is not that NRA members do the shootings at schools. It’s the fact that the NRA uses its power and money to make sure that an 18-year-old can quickly and easily get an AR-15.

Blame the media

Since we seem to be collectively attacking our 2nd Amendment, let’s not forget to place blame on the media. Let’s ban all violent movies, music and video games anything with a weapon.

Stop the arguing

The only way to reduce gun violence significantly is to reduce gun availability and that’s not going to happen, at least not anytime soon. Let’s hope future generations will come to their senses. Imagine a day when guns for the public are restricted to those for hunting. Today, let’s honor those who died from mass shootings but let’s not waste our time arguing about causes.

Pay it forward

My wife and I had breakfast at a café in downtown Gulfport on Monday morning. We finished and went to pay when a lady jumped from her seat and insisted on buying our meal. We asked why, and she replied, “This is what you should do”. I do not know her but I can only say what I took away from it. In this time of rampant hate, show love. In this time of racism, realize we are one race, the human race. I will not take this gesture in vain. If those reading this choose the same we will be better for it.
