Cameras in Ocean Springs
Someone I know got a ticket for no insurance due to the recent cameras in Ocean Springs. On the other side, I had someone hit me at an intersection with a camera. It is impossible to get the video from the camera that would clearly show what happened. Why do the cameras only work for the insurance industry? No witness to my accident, insurance denies responsibility and if I claim it on my insurance, my rate goes up.
War crimes
The recent news of civilians killed in Bucha, Ukraine, although truly horrible, is not unusual among the myriad of atrocities during warfare. I had family who survived in Ukraine during World War I and World War II who saw much of the same murderous behavior from Russians and Germans alike. Note: Following investigation of the My Lai, the Vietnam massacre of hundreds of Vietnamese civilians by U.S. soldiers in 1968, U.S. Lieutenant William Calley was accused and convicted, not President Richard Nixon. So, at least to my mind, odious as Russian President Putin’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine seems to be, it’s a bit of a stretch to attempt to find him personally guilty of war crimes committed by Russian soldiers.
A rhetorical question
I am a very conservative Republican. I have a rhetorical question, which doesn’t require an answer, but rather invites the audience to reflect on the concept: Do those that say they hate Democrats or say they’ll never vote for a Democrat think they are going to fair better under authoritarian rule? Just be honest with yourself and think about it. It’s just between you and your maker.
Bacteria in the water
Once again it is not safe to use water in the city of Long Beach. It’s the weekend and the only information available from the city is “I have no updates.” Boil water and wait for it to cool to wash hands and face. Off to church Sunday and school Monday with dirty hair and body. How do restaurants clean dishes, I wonder? Any updates to this situation will be posted on social media. I don’t think this is a social problem.
The border
Maybe the president should take a road trip to the border.
