Goodbye, Will Smith

After watching the disgraceful act of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, I will never again watch a Will Smith movie. No one is above the law and I hope Chris Rock files charges.

What about Landon Road?

I read and see all of the talk about Airport Road extension, but what has happened to the widening of Landon Road? Doesn’t look like that is going to happen with all of the building and property improvements that are being allowed on Landon Road.

Invest in teachers and children

The person who wrote that teachers should settle for whatever they are paid obviously has no children. You invest in the welfare of your greatest asset and the things you love. Teachers spend a lot of time with them. They are role models. And there are other jobs that pay more, but do you really want to lose good teachers?

Bay-Waveland school bond

The people that voted it down should be ashamed. When their children, grandchildren, and neighbors’ children get to the high school, they’ll find how badly they messed up. They will find sewage and mold.

In support of teachers

I’d like to see the person who thinks teachers are just babysitters who “only work” 180 days a year and have “no production goals” to follow a teacher around for 24 hours. My daughter leaves her home at 6:15 a.m. and gets home well after 4:30 p.m., only then to began grading papers and working on lesson plans. Most teachers put in many hours for which they will never be paid. Often they have to spend their own money for items needed for their classroom. Why do they do this? Because they are dedicated teachers who deeply care about their students. Any person who thinks a teacher has a cushy job is either very ignorant or has been raised by wolves.
