Be the change you want to see

I’ve been reading a lot about the trash along the roadways in our Coast cities, and I couldn’t agree more. But here’s a novel idea: how about spending a little time picking up some of that trash in your own neighborhoods instead of thinking it’s someone else’s responsibility? This is our community. Be part of the change you want to see.

High gas prices

The U.S. government is not totally to blame for rising prices. Stocks have historically proven to be quite resilient to major geopolitical events and this time shouldn’t be an exception, even if the wait is uncomfortable. The economy’s track record of resilience and corporate America’s ability to adapt are unparalleled. Do however, expect the war in Eastern Europe to carry an economic cost for the United States, though it should be modest.

Fuel dependence

If we only get 8% of our oil from Russia, what is causing the gas shortage? We have plenty of oil in this country if President Joe Biden would allow it to be produced or release our storage of oil. Biden also closed our pipeline from Canada to Texas. We should not be dependent on other countries.

Don’t blame Biden

It has been explained many times in Sound Off that no president can control gas prices, yet people keep blaming President Joe Biden. It’s also been explained that becoming oil-independent should not be our goal, because digging, refining and transporting oil is toxic to us. Cancer Alley is an example.
