FoFo’s new SUV
All I can say is that I am so glad I am not a Biloxi taxpayer. Paying $71,000 for Fofo’s new vehicle — seriously? Why does he need an entertainment system in the back seat? I am so glad you included the cost for the mayor’s vehicles in neighboring cities. I applaud those mayors. And they moved money from the salaries account to help pay for it. Poor city employees of Biloxi. The Council should be ashamed. The only one who can hold his head high is Paul Tisdale.
Not practical
In order to match the 2,000 cars that a typical gas station can service in a busy 12 hours, an EV charging station would require 600, 50-watt chargers at an estimated cost of $24 million and a supply of 30 megawatts of power from the grid. Yes, contrary to popular belief, the juice would come from a coal, steam or nuclear power plant. That’s enough to power 20,000 homes. No one considers it can take 30 minutes to 8 hours to recharge an EV between empty or top off. Got that kind of time to build into your trip about every 500 miles? Unless China does the same for every vehicle, it won’t make one iota of difference in the climate.
Supporting Russia
Some people on Fox News are supporting Putin in the war between Ukraine and Russia. The word traitor applies to anyone who supports Russia.
Clean energy
If the Russia/Ukraine war is about oil, how about we support clean energy and avoid oil altogether? There will be no wars over clean energy because we have a never-ending of supply of sun and wind.
Biden, Trump and Putin
The Sound Off suggesting President Biden’s election slowed down Putin’s aggression plans that were somehow related to Donald Trump is pathetic. Putin probably thought it was Christmas when Biden’s first action was to cancel the Canadian pipeline and cripple our own gas and oil exploration. Shortly after that, he started sending troops to Ukraine’s border. Putin’s strength is his oil exports and western Europe’s reliance on it. Trump was in the process of reducing that reliance.
