Equal justice for all

Lately it’s the cops we’re reading about in the news who are breaking the law. I’m sure that others will agree that they should be treated like every other citizen who breaks the law. No special treatment. Keep the body cameras running when it involves one of them. And this whole matter of non-adjudication for them should not be permitted. Any other law breaker with a domestic violence conviction would not get that special treatment. So the courts need to stop showing favoritism toward the cops, and law enforcement agencies need to stop covering up incidents involving the law breaking deputies within their departments.

Afghanistan assets

The theft of Afghanistan’s assets is an immoral outrage. Fifteen of the 19 Sept. 11, 2001 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. The highest echelons of Saudi society have spent untold sums funding global terrorism, while the United States government has obfuscated the truth and inhibited the victims of 9/ll from holding Saudi Arabia to account. You haven’t brought the U.S. back, President Joe Biden, you are perpetuating the immoral policies of your predecessors.

Beware of scammers

Businesses have to make money to survive. But are there times when the amount a technician quotes you crosses over the line into scam territory? I needed a part for my air conditioner. The tech told me the part would cost $712. I told him I’d let him know. I never called the company back. I put the part number in google and the same new OEM part cost me $84.21, which included tax. I thought car salespeople were the worst scammers.

We need a grocery store

It would be great if a company would consider opening up a grocery store in Saucier. So many people are moving to areas in unincorporated Harrison and Stone counties, like Saucier and McHenry. Most people go to Gulfport, Wiggins or D’Iberville to shop. I realize that population density and traffic determines whether a company will consider an area, so we should find out if the population would sustain a Grocery Outlet, Aldi or something of the like.
